Damn so-called Charlotte Grads!

I think that is how BCS schools feel about us.[/quote]

Sort of. This is how BCS schools want their fans to feel about us. Let’s backtrack to the CUSA days. We were up there, beating Cinci, Louisville, Memphis, Marquette, and others in conference, as well as the Tennessee, Indiana, NC State, South Carolina, Georgetown, Syracuse, and others out of conference. We were often ranked top 40 or better in the rpi and often on National TV. We should have received much more respect than we did. The BCS schools (especially the ACC schools) did not want their fans giving us that respect, and definitely did not want those in Charlotte giving us that respect.

Now, our problems have been magnified because we no longer win like we used to, but one can make the excuse we were never respected because we never won.

They’re still much better than us.

the first paragraph is exactly why a high percentage of us used to be so critical of the observer. they did not want us receving recognition. and they did not want locals knowing anything about us.

the second paragraph is one of the reasons we do not criticize the observer as much now. the other reason is the coverage improved as we got worse.
