Wow that’s a mixed up situation
Officially a Mempiss Tiger
And now no longer a Memphis Tiger…
CommercialAppeal.com: Memphis Tigers’ guard Doneal Mack to transfer
Would make a perfect Niner. He’s a good scorer, but not very physical and not a good defender. Sign him up.
I figured this would happen. He was not getting any real playing (just a lot against the lower end teams). Looked like he had a chance to start next year too with all the players leaving early.
“Greg Mack mentioned Clemson, Wake Forest and LSU as possible destinations for his son”.

Here is another story on it, also a good story on local vs. non-local recruiting in Memphis.
He is now attending University of New Orleans. Not quite WFU, LSU or Clemson, but he’ll get his playing time.

Wow, didn’t see that one coming.
It is amazing how many of these high school players can’t tell when they are being recruited that going to Memphis or a similar program and sitting behind a bunch of McDonald’s All-Americans is not the place to get playing time. Even if the players in front of you graduate or leave early, you will be recruited over immediately with the next crop of AAs.
From Andy Katz…
Doneal Mack, who transferred to New Orleans from Memphis last week, is apparently on his way back to Memphis, according to his Statesville Christian High (N.C.) coach John Jordan. Jordan said in an e-mail Tuesday that Mack, a reserve guard last season, wants to return to Memphis. But since Mack did enroll in summer school, he'll have to go through an NCAA process to return to Memphis, making it less than a smooth transition. Memphis is looking into the rules of what occurs when a player does transfer back to his original school if he's taken a few classes of summer school at another program.New Orleans coach Joe Pasternack said Tuesday that Mack was in class Tuesday, and that if he were leaving, it “was news to me.” Memphis coach John Calipari declined to comment on the subject until Mack has officially left UNO.
