I may not make a game until Dec 1. This friday is up in the air and there is no way I make the 4:00 game. Even if I could make it I wouldnāt as a sign of how stupid it is.

Hey Iāll just be happy if he shows up and acts like he cares - which has not been the case at past radio shows.

From a DScott story:
Charlotte 49ers menās basketball guards Terrence Williams and Shawn Lester wonāt face game suspensions for arrests last summer.Charlotte coach Alan Major has disciplined Williams and Lester in undisclosed ways, spokesman Brent Stastny said.

Iām also excited to see what Lester and Cherry can bring to the table. We need outside scoring from these two if we are hoping to improve on the momentum we had last year. Iām really getting stoked for basketball!!
From what I saw of Lesterās shot at the game on Saturday, do not expect Lester to be a major three point threat. Heāll make some, but he has an ugly shot.
Heās definitely a slasher type player that plays above the rim. He looks for opportunities to throw down missed shots, so thatās always a good thing. He should rebound well for a guard.
Heāll likely get to the foul line quite a bit with his style of play, so I hope he can knock down the FT shots.
Good info. I thought I remembered from his highlight reel in HS that his shot was decent-looking. Maybe I was thinking of someone else. Also, highlight reels can be deceiving.
So Cherry and Benny are the only outside threats? TWill looked better towards the end of last season, but I still get nervous when he starts chucking 3s. A lot of his shots do not come in rhythm and turn out to be bad misses compounded by bad positioning for the rebound underneath.
I didnāt check his percentages but from my memory, Ingram was as good an outside shooter as we had last year. I never minded him taking that shot when he was open and think he will be able to knock em down this year. He may not have the same % as Benny or Cherry but should at least me included in the discussion.

He finished with a 27% shooting percentage from outside.
Benny was easily out best three point shooter last year. Williams did much better to close out the year and he was 1-2 in the exhibition on Saturday. If Williams can just shoot 30% from three, weāll be a much improved three point shooting team.
Henryās shot also looked better on Saturday. Hopefully the 3-5 he shot from outside is a sign of things to come (not that I expect him to shoot 60%) and not just a lucky game.
Ingramās % would have been much better if he could shoot from the corner, he struggled bigtime with the baseline 3 last year.
Whatever it is you are talking about, why not go ahead and do it now or at some time before the game? Why wait?
Obviously I hope Iām dead wrong but this probably will not go well. ETSU was TERRIBLE last year, a whole lot of internal strife, all three assistants and the Director of Operations left, only replaced with two assistant coaches. Huge roster turnover for a team that canāt run halfcourt sets at all (ETSU never has under Bartow), they want to play man defensively but are short on depth and athleticism.
And yes, Ron Giplaye had heart surgery. The other āBigs,ā Lukas Poderis was hurt last year and isnāt much of a threat anywhere, KGG and Hunter Harris are back, but are at best spotty. The two newcomers, Darius Forrest and Isaac Banks, who knows?
Guard play should be much better this year for ETSU, but most of us are still waiting on the lightswitch to flip on for Petey McClain.
I expect ETSU to compete early, lose by 18-22 with late free throws skewing the final score higher.
Someone for Charlotte will go for about 30 and probably set a school record for three pointers in a game, too. Itās a benchmark of Murry Bartow basketball.
Again, I hope Iām wrong, good luck guys. Also glad to see football is going well for you guys. Weāre not far behind in restarting.

I think Charlotte will probably win by 15-20, Major likes to tinker around early in the season with things.

I think it will be a 9 point win. The injuries and lack of front court experience will show. Down by 1 at the half.

I agree. Here is a question. If a team loses to Elon at home but there is no crowd does the game still count?

Depends on each fanās opinion of the coach. I think the game would count to some of our fans and not count to others.
