Ebuka Izundu - 2015 C - requested release from LOI

Price and company watched Izundu multiple times over the weekend. Sounds like it’s Cincy, Charlotte, BC and Tennessee going after him right now. Had a huge weekend.

clt feels good about him.

my biggest fear is tennessee bc of oliver although never rule out cincy.

I have no clue what will happen, but one of the big reasons Izundu chose Charlotte is because the only “family” he has in the U.S. is at Victory Christian. That has not changed.

exactly. we need to emphasize that his family can see all his home games.

If Price and Co. can get him to re-commit, I’ll be pleasantly surprised and FOREVER grateful.

I’m guessing they have a pretty good chance of that. It couldn’t have all been about major. If he gets to know the new staff and there is a fit seems like he would recommit.

Also if he had nba talent as had been said maybe price is the man to get him to the league.

if i were price i would be selling the close to home and nba connections thing. i think this is where he wants to be but maybe he is unsure about the staff(that is based on nothing but my gut feeling). we need to show him way more love than the other schools. we need to tell him that we will build this program around him.

RT @Coach_Rick57: Per coach McCain, Ebuka Izundu received his release from Charlotte and his recruitment is wide open. Has no favorites

Maybe if a large contingent of decked out Niner fans showed up at a future tournament,
he’d feel the love. If he’d re-commit it may swing things back in our favor as far as recruiting.

I still feel that its a long shot. Rarely guys receive a release and then come back to the same school. With that being said, I hope he comes here more than any other new commit/transfer.

is it still just us and the other three schools recruiting him?

Isn’t his sister coming to Charlotte on a track scholarship? Seems like I saw that somewhere.

That’d definitely be a nice piece of leverage for us.

Looks like she is in the 10th grade, runs track and plays basketball.

Did Izundu actually make an official visit to Charlotte?

I know he made a least one visit, I don’t know if it was an official.

Isn’t it weird that we went from not giving a release to anyone from our last coaching change to giving a release to basically our whole team + recruit(s) this time? Is there not a middle ground somewhere?

We have a 25 year AD that is still learning the ropes
