Throughout this next month, sheâs scheduled to do five concerts in Columbia. Her first U.S. stop on the world tour will be in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 13. Shakiraâs final show of the tour will be in San Francisco, California on June 30.
Itâs Colombia. ![]()
No doubt AI involved. Geez!
Sorry to hear about another music icon passing away. Flack was from Black Mountain, NC. Enrolled at Howard at age 15, then returned to NC after graduating and taught school in Farmville before eventually embarking upon her musical career. Didnât realize she was same age as my mother.
Good. Is he one of the heroâs you emulate? Doll?
Junior Brown is more talented and more original than Glen Cowboy
Have to admit that I wasnât a big fan of the NY Dolls or early punk for that matter. Now, when it comes to bands that they influenced- like Aerosmith and Motley Crue - thatâs a different story.
As far as Johansen, more drawn in by his âBuster Poindexterâ persona, especially as an actor in Scrooged. Really sad to follow his health deteriorate over the past 5 years due to a brain tumor and cancer. His first wife Cyrinda - who would later wed Steven Tyler - also died due to an inoperable brain tumor.
Buster was pushed hard and into my MTV. I still do not understand why people gave or give a damn about his music career.
My wife said some Jehovahâs Witnesses came by to talk about Jesus and she turned them away before I could talk to them about PRINCE
I love his Japanese Tele patent infringed guitars
Yep, the Dolls and âBusterâ arenât my cup of tea musically, but no denying that the bands and individuals inspired by the former is a whoâs who in a number of genres.
You should start âThe People I Found Out Were Deadâ thread. I would move it all over for you, I got better things to do with my time. Besides, I would probably ass something like âwhile sitting on the throneâ somewhere in the title
In 1976 The Damned released what is considered the first punk single, âNew Rose,â in the UK. Guns Nâ Roses did a cover with Duff McKagan on lead vocals that was included on their 1993 album âThe Spaghetti Incident?â (BTW, GnâR also covered the New York Dolls on the same album.)
It reminds me of my Mom. Anytime she asks me if I knew someone, especially if I knew of someone from way back, I already know that person will be dead, AND I probably donât know the departed. Then I will get the gory particulars from Mom. She canât make me pay attention, now that I moved out of the basement
I always liked that GNR cover. Good pull Run.
Itâs solid, but lacks the full punk spirit of the original.
