More as it comes available…

Pomeroy’s scouting report has been pretty telling on what to expect. Links below

*Pomeroy also ranks us among the unluckiest

FDU has a well-oiled offense.

but…

Opponents… 281-570 (FGM/FGA) 49.3% (FG%)

They don’t play defense.

Also, the 3ptA/FGA on both sides of the ball is really high. So they like getting into 3 point contests it looks like.

If we weren't at home, I'm sure Lutz would be obliged to have a 3 point contest (and lose). :unhappy:

what is the correct pronunciation of their name. I’ve heard it 2 ways. Is it Fairleigh like “my fair lady” or like “so far away”?? I’ve have heard Sweirad and our players say "Far"leigh.

fair lay dick n son

In the “more than you’ll ever want to know” department, FDU is named for Colonel Fairleigh S. Dickinson (1862-1948). Dickinson was born in Beaufort, NC and co-founded Becton Dickinson, a medical technology company headquartered in Franklin Lakes, NJ that employs 27,000 in nearly 50 countries and had revenues $5.83 billion in FY06.

FDU isn’t much older than UNCC, being founded in 1942 – also as a 2-year college – and is the largest private university in New Jersey. Named for its main benefactor and became a university in 1956. There are 11,500 students at 2 campuses.

From Wiki…

In intercollegiate athletics, the Metropolitan Campus competes in NCAA Division I, while the College at Florham competes in Division III, making it one of only a few schools in the United States to field both Division I and Division III teams. The teams at the Metropolitan Campus are known as the Knights, while the Madison teams are known as the Devils.

anyone with facebooks “Charlotte basketball fans” application notice they wrote “Fairleigh Dick” for the team we play this week? Either the guy who wrote the program has no common sense, or someone went to whatever Fairleigh’s rival school is…

I’m thanking God this game is not on the road. What’s the spread?

better known around our office as Fairly Ridiculous

someone please tell me why everything regarding this team has UNC Charlotte written on it? The only affiliation we have with them is athletics…

They hyphenated us, let’s kick their asses. It says UNC Charlotte on our goals, though. :<

yeah… but our excuse for that is our attempt to maintain a piece of our history… for we once were known as UNC Charlotte athletically… thats all…

worse comes to worse someone sneak down on teh floor on a normal day when the gym is open with an exacto knife and take care of that UNC

Well I don’t have to watch anymore games this year as Ken’s site predicts us to be 18-12 at the end of the year. Considering how we have played so far, roller coaster style, I would take that as an accomplishment.

Also of note we are 0-1 against teams from the Northeast Conference so I would not take FDU lightly.
Am sick again though when I noticed that Monmouth’s record is 2-9.

My sister’s boyfriend went to HS with FDU’s Manny Ubilla. He said the guy can be pretty explosive. I’m not terribly worried about this one, but they have some big scorers.

I look on paper at this game like I did Monmouth, Illinois Chicago, and Hofstra

We’ll be better than fine if we could keep our “Free Throws” at least aound 75%.
