Why canât we finish teams off, we had them by what 13 at one point? I was biting my nails thinking it was going to be another Hofstra.

Idk⌠we get lost between missing all of our jumpers, half our layups, and everyone touching the ball on the rebound but somehow managing to give it to the other teamâŚ
Perhaps Iâm just in a good mood or something, but I really enjoyed the game today. It wasnât a thriller and there were some mistakes - but I also saw things I liked.
Charles Hayward set the freshman record for blocks with 6 in one of the most memorable performances by a Niner ever. Gaby tied that record today which really made me very happy. Rebounding looked good - especially that offensive rebounding sequence toward the end. Mack played great in the post and rarely stepped away from the basket. His stats might not show it, but I thought he looked a lot better than during his Gardner Webb performance.
There were times this season where I sensed some âI have to do it myselfâ mindsets of the players. There was a little of that today, too - and it seemed to result in some long, missed shots. But there was more of a âI have to find a teammateâ mentality - especially in the 1st half. Thatâs good - itâs a sign of trust. If we scored points with an offensive possession, it was usually due to the ball finding its way to the right teammate at the right time rather than due to individual effort. Wilderness, Coley, Ian, and Harris all looked pretty good today. Defense seemed to frustrate them the full length of the court (although I can recall at least 3 instances where we gave up wide, wide open threes along the perimeter. 1 of the 3 went in)
All in all, I was satisfied by the way Charlotte played. No one was âhotâ today scoring-wise, and there were no quick jumpers by a shooter who was âon fireâ. Yet, we won. Thatâs a good sign.
at least we didnt see another deangelo alexander performance. And by that, Iâm talking about the end of the year, when we would sometimes see some really good, really selfish numbers
Front row, 105 side of 104. He looked to me like he was almost in the aisle.I was almost last seat in 105 front row⌠so it was hard for me to tell
I was dead center 104, so I never saw him. If he had been around us, we would have given him crap about it.

my friend whos at carolina, parents and sister went to carolina, and is a real (not walmart) carolina fan even wore a green shirt today. i appreciate that since he was with his gf down in our section. and the ironic thing is, hes the one who pointed the kid out to me

we played Fairleigh-Dickinson at Halton lmfao, where are your expectations?
FDâs RPI last few seasons:
2007 233
2006 145
2005 168
2004 164
2003 249
2002 319 :lmao:
2001 222
anything less than a margin of 15 is freaking embarrassing, where is the bar set nowadays??
Gaby was the difference today! Phil got in 2-3 times and every time Bobby got frustrated with his play and yanked him.(and I canât say I disagree) I think Bobby is even surprised at how well Gaby is playing, and Iâd look for him to get more& more of Philâs minutes. The biggest problem we have, and I think it was utterly apparent tonight is that none of our inside guys can shoot a lick from 10 feet and in.Coley,Mack,PhilâŚthey look terrible offensively when theyâre not dunking. And Wilderness,I love him but heâs got no confidence in his shot, once teams stop him from driving heâs lost. I also think Harris gives us much more than Gerrity right now,his defense is very good.
Cant finish.

If this had been my 1st Niners game this season, I wouldnât let Gerrity off the bench.
Sure, Lutz said in the post game that he needs to work with him on certain situations.
But right now, we are 2 games away from conference play. This is too late in the year for Gerrityâs OTJ training.
Start Dijuan until further notice.

I understand your point and think we should very disappointed in many, many things in tonights game.
However, after last season and my incredible low expectations at the start of this season, I hate to say it but I think the Geico Gekko could step over the bar.
At least there is talk about basketball (good or bad) and no silly talk about contract extensions.

?
We won the game. Who gives a flying f*** about margin of victory?
I like defense, I like post play, I like shot-blockers, I like it when players rebound (especially offensive rebounds) and I like it when 4 players move without the ball during a play to set up an open look. So, generally I liked what I saw. Shooting was awfully cold today - jump shots -especially near the basket- werenât falling.
I wasnât even aware at all times of the score and I remember looking a couple times- and being surprised that it was as close as it was. I was pretty confident Charlotte would get the win before the game and I stayed pretty confident that Charlotte would get the win during the game too. My schoolâs team won and I enjoyed it.
So what ⌠I liked that we won without relying on Goldwire to shoot 30+ points, I liked Gabyâs game on the defensive end, and I thought Mack played better. What difference does that make to you? If I followed sports solely for margin of victory, Iâd become a Harlem Globetrotters fan.
If youâre going to call me out like that, at least watch the game.

Gaby was great! Gerrity looked pretty uncomfortable out there, and Lutz pulled him. I did like some of the fast break chemistry that Gerrity had with Wilderness and Coley. That will be nice.
If Jones doesnât learn to move his feet and play more aggressive, heâs gonna start losing alot of minutes to Gaby. This years team needs everyone chipping in to contribute, and I hope Phil keeps his head up and tries to come out strong against Maryland.
I want Bobby to teach the guys to rebound with a two hand grab rather than a one handed swat. That could make a difference too.

Phil let that really slow, unathletic white kid back him down and then slip around him without really contesting his layup, twice.
Phil has got to be less of a finesse player if he wants minutes.

Phil is not a bullddog. You canât teach guys to âwant it.â
I think Phil is just happy to be here.
