FAU Postgame

Won 86-61

Big news is Bernard played. Looked pretty good on offense. 2/2 on post moves. Odom in Postgame said Bernard wanted to play now rather than hope for medical waiver. Looks 6’6-7" on the court it seemed. Not too big. Really interested to see him play more minutes and see what he can do. Thought we’d have him for a full two years but maybe he just doesn’t want to be in school a 6th yr.

Good game all the way around. woods 1/1 from 3, oh well.

Henry with 5 more steals. gonna Crush the record. Has a Basden video Pregame where Basden congratulated PH. Pretty cool

Feels pretty good to dominate a team. Too bad it’s been a rarity.

It was nice to sit back and enjoy the game in the 2nd half. How long has it been since we defeated a team by 25 points? This SHOULD be the 1st win of a 3 game winning streak.

Someone needs to post a copy of that video.

Wonder how many steals PH would have against the competition Basden played against? I’m speculating not as many as Eddie had.

Just a pleasure to see him be able to participate.

FAU is bad. Not in an ironic way, either.

Speculate all you want. Questions like that can be said about any records set over time

You are 2/2 with negative depressing posts.

FAU only had 2 offense rebounds. On 51 shots, at a 37% clip, they only had 2. Amazing.

Obviously they are a bad team, but we beat them just about like we should beat a bad team. We did not play to their level. We executed our game plan. We held their top scorer that averages 16 points per game to 3/21 shooting. We had 5 walk-ons on the floor for the last minute and a half. When they came in we were up by 25, and when the horn blew we were up by 25–nice!

Willie gives a good post game interview. We do not get many chances to hear him.

All in all, the only thing to complain about tonight was the attendance. It is hard to blame the people that skipped it, but the team showed up.

You are 2/2 with negative depressing posts.
Those are only negative posts because you took them that way.
Praising Basden and saying it was a pleasure to see Bernard play is not my idea of negativity.
Saying FAU’s inside defense is horrible is only stating the obvious. Ivan drove for a layup. I rest my case.

Eddie seldom got beat on defense. PH gambles by overplaying his man to get those steals and sometimes gets beat. To me, that is the primary difference. They are both excellent defensive players.

Good to see Sullivan on the court. He didn’t look like he was in playing condition yet which is why I assume he was not on the court until late. I will hold my opinion of his play for later, but hopefully as he gets in better shape he can push the other guys for PT. I really like TWill coming off of the bench. He just seems to play better when he doesn’t start. I would not be surprised if we say Woods was the better player between him and Dorn at the end of four years. It looks like Dorn was more college ready as a freshman, but Woods could be a big time scorer for us. His shoot looks really good from everywhere on the court, and it looks like he is getting more confident in creating his shot. I think both could be big time players for us if they show some growth in their games.

I have repeatedly heard that Woods will be the point guard next year. If so, why doesn’t he get minutes there this year? When Henry isn’t running point Brax is, and Dorn even seems to bring the ball up more often that Woods.

PH got plenty of those steals in the A10, a pretty good league, especially the 2012-13 season (5 ncaa bids in the league) That year he was a sophomore and had 84 steals. Most in any of his seasons. I’d say PH would have still had a ton of steals if he played similar competition to Eddie.

Also, defensive rules have changed in Henry’s years to make it harder on the defender to get those steals. Both were great defenders. Not saying one was better than the other, but for steals, henry holds the record.

Woods has a higher 3pt FG % than his FT%.

I’m not convinced that Woods is a point guard, but I’m not convinced that anyone else remaining on the team is either.

I will be shocked since spanking teams, even bad ones, isn’t something we do over the past 5 years.
Spanked.

I saw Demarco Johnson in Halton tonight

Yey, a win!
