You mean Thorne wasnât going to score 15 or 16ppg? I do wish his play was more consistent.

The best part of this whole post and chart would be that the inverse of it would reflect your level of being a douchebag during the course of each season.

Yea, damn shame he wouldnât get to pad his stats versus those awesome ECU, Tulane, So. Miss, and TCU teams of yesteryear.
So you are saying the overall competition is better now? I beg to differ.
I take you point there were bad teams at the bottom of CUSA1. There are also very bad teams at the bottom of CUSA3 and there were in the A10.
I also take and agree with 49r9râs point that Basden was way less prone to take chances trying for steals and missing them, leaving himself out of position and his team mates to play 4 on 5 while he recovered.
Itâs just an opinion. Any opinion on here except perhaps âMajor and Odom suck and Judy holds the prick while they do itâ seems to cause a shât storm.
Iâm saying I think the dog shit at the bottom of the conference in CUSA1.0 is still equally dog shit in CUSA3.0. Plain and simple. You want to point at Louisville, Cincy, and Marquette, as you talk down about Henry getting 5 steals versus FAU. To me Henry doing this versus FAU is no different then what Eddie did versus ECU or Tulane.
As stated before, Eddie having better talent around him helped, along with the fact that they played different positions. Eddie cheating into a passing lane on the wing isnât the same as Henry gambling atop the key guarding a PG. They were different players at different times. No reason to disparage one over the other because of the talent they may or may not have faced, but then again as times pass we always hold onto nostalgia.

At no time did I disparage PH. If I said I thought he was better than Eddie, I wouldnât be disparaging Eddie, either.
Both great defensive players. I just think Eddie was better.
Basden was defensive player of the year and overall conference player of the year his senior season. Thatâs a pretty objective indication to me that he was the best player on that team that year. So, if his team mates were very talented and he was the best player on the team, he must have had a little something going for himself.
Sure the bottom of the league is and was bad. Iâm pretty secure in saying the top of CUSA1 was better than the top of CUSA3 is. Maybe Iâm wrong, Maybe La Tech really would give Memphis or Louisville fits. Itâs my OPINION that they wouldnât. By the bye, that isnât to disparage La Tech, either.

Pull your panties out of your twat.
Youâre initial comment basically stated PH isnât better than Eddie. I donât see the point of making a comment like that and how itâs not disparaging whether true or not, especially stating it after someone made a comment on his 5 steals. Comes off as a bit butthurt that somebody passed your childhood hero. Eddie was better, no reason to basically state that the reason Henry earned the record because heâs played lesser competition. Itâs not that simple, largely because of the positions they played, like I stated. Each played shit competition. Yes, CUSA1 had better teams at the top then CUSA3, but nowhere on this team does Henry have a Withers and Nance/Iti in the post behind him, and a Mitchell outfront on the ball.
Iâm not here to compare merits, but if you donât think playing on a better overall team with better overall talent will help you win awards I donât know what to tell you.
Keep capitalizing OPINION all you want. Iâm just providing mine as a counterpoint because maybe my OPINION is that youâre taking to simplistic of an approach.
Maybe we should just draw even at that weâd like to have both of them defensively in our backcourt at the same time.
Children, letâsm all play nicely in the sandbox.
This thread is fun.
Let me add:
Enough of the Eddie vs. PH thing.
Iâm extremely pleased with the last 30 minutes of this game. Wasnât a tough test at the end, but it was a blowout, which is rare for this team. Hope itâs progress, but we wonât really know until we play @ ODU. Iâll feel better if we blow out the next two opponents also.

Someone give this guy a cookie for being correct ::)
Hold the cookie just a minute. The first seven games , Thorne scored at a 16.8 pts per 40 mi. The past two games he has scored 24 points in thirty nine minutes. If that is mediocre I think we can live with it.
Iâll inject some fuel into this oneâŚI think it was 2 games ago when Thorne had 10 pts. in about 17 minutes.Pretty good ratioâŚExcept the major reason he only logged 17 minutes was that he drew 4 fouls within those 17.
Part of the reason for that,iâd throw outâŚis because he is a lousy def. player with poor footwork who is not often able to use his height advantage, instead committing fouls.
Just as a general comment,my OPINION is that he is probably the most overrated player on our team.
Thatâs just, like, your opinion, man.
clt says a team with basden and Beasley that was coached by lutz would have won by more last night.

Just so you know, my original post was a tribute to Basden,( who apparently was my childhood hero even though he wasnât born yet), not a slap to Henry. Iâm not sure why you donât want to accept that, since Iâve already said it twice before.
Frankly, I never even read most of the post you are referring to wherein it was mentioned that Pierria had 5 steals last night and I damned sure didnât quote it, so you are just seeing an insult not intended.
Itâs my OPINION that Henry doesnât give a crap if I think Basden was better or not. Neither should you. Not that big of a deal.

We won a game by 25 fucking points and probably played the best game weâve played in a few years and you focus on marginalizing Henryâs accomplishment then shitting on Sullivan in your first two posts.
Whatâs the point in taking a shot at arguably the best player weâve had since Basden/Withers and a guy that hasnât even played in a game in almost 2 seasons?
Maybe neither post was malicious, but they absolutely come off that way and they had virtually nothing to do with last nightâs game.
I thought we might actually have a good, positive post game thread for once since we didnât really do anything poorly last night, but nah, I should set the bar lower I guess.
Chris Braswell is back?
Chris Braswell is back?
Henry is better than Braswell.

What part of saying it was a pleasure to see Sullivan finally get to play was shitting on him? He made some nice moves in the post against terrible players, which doesnât really mean we should count on that happening against some other team. I hope he does well, of course.
As far as the overall thread goes, Iâve tried not to over react when we lose. I was one person who took the Rice loss a little better than some, saying that Rice is a very well coached team who is going to win some more games. Just as I tried not to over react after losses, Iâm not going to get too pumped up over a drubbing of a very bad FAU team. The most positive thing to me about the game was our guys energy level. Loose balls seemed to mostly go our way.
Woods and Dorn on the Deanâs list is a good thing, by the way. That has nothing to do with the game, but was announced before tip off. Right before Eddieâs video.
