I am not sure what everyone sees in Matt. Lee would get a good play or first down and Matt would come in and throw an int or take off on a run up the middle. I still think our best QB is Barden. He has a better arm than Lee and is smarter with ball then Matt. We were also down 3 o line during second half tonight. I thought our receivers did not fight for the ball and several hit them in the hands.
That game was an embarrassment to D1 football. 12 combined turnovers  Our coaches need to adjust to our personnel. We may want to be a pass first team, but itâs not happening right now. Need to commit to the run. Lambert needs to pick a QB and stick with him. Iâd go with Barden and let him have a chance to develop, let him get 1st string reps, find out if he can be the man. If not, weâll know we have to go find someone else.
Multiple QBs are WRONG WRONG WRONG!!
Shoulda, coulda, woulda won.
We had a chance to win, even as badly as we played.
Movinâ on.
I am so over the âwe have a teamâ shitâŚ
This was awful. FAU was worse than Ga State and there is no reason we shouldnât be anything short of disgusted with what happened tonight. The defense played fantastic. There is no excuse for QB play that bad, simply no excuse at all. My faith in Lambert and Mullen is diminishing and will continue to do so every snap Lee McNeil takes going forward. The inability to have even a competent QB at this point is an indictment on this staff.
That was a bad loss.
Our quarterbacks were 11-34 with 6 INTs. That's not optimal for winning
Mistakes doom Charlotte 49ers in 17-7 loss to Florida Atlantic
Not even close, FAU hung tight with Tulsa. Georgia State would never be able to do that.

That team did NOTHING on offense⌠They were terrible.

Doesnât mean you should lump them with Georgia State. We definitely missed an opportunity tonight if that is what youâre looking for.
- Great turnout, especially by the students, and especially considering the rain.
- Defense played very well. This loss was not on them.
- At this point in time, it looks like we have 3 FCS quarterbacks. I hope that changes.
- Considering tonightâs rain soaked crowd, I think stadium expansion is something that needs to be looked at sooner rather than later.
- It is better to have played and lost than not to have played at all.
Mullen is a really bad OC. Ditch him like we did Bruce Tall.

Attendance was announced at 17,444.
Really proud of how the defense played, especially after the beating they took last week. The kind of loss we had at MTSU could demoralize a team, but our D was excellent from start to finish.
Had the chance to get the win, but we canât seem to get out of our own way on offense. We have to be on pace to set the single season turnover record. I believe that is 20 for the season already. We have to look at JuCo QB or 2 if we plan to compete next season.
We just need to survive the game this Friday against Temple. They are coming off a bye, and us off a short week. It will probably be very ugly, and I think it is very likely that we get shut out. We should have a good shot at ODU after the bye though.
Game 3 of FBS, Could of won schoolâs 2nd FBS game
Our kids (year 1 of FBS exposure) were recruited to FCS and 49er unknown entity, will eventually adjust to the game. Opponents have redshirted 5th year guys recruited to FBS. Huge advantage.
Your first job, did you know if you donât send a report by 8am then your competitor in another cube will? Or the coffee gets gone by 9 or its gone, or pull that 24 hour shift to meet a deadline of sorts and not be prepped what feels like in hour 20? Eventually you figured it out. Now you laugh at the kids. Playing QB at the highest NCAA level takes more than 2 games to comprehend and feel. Coley kid for FAU was freak too
FAU roster had 90% Florida kids, getting offers in 2008 and 2009 from FBS teams when we were doing what? Powerpoint slides to be FCS or FBS?
This isnât basketball where you grab a juco and its Ok next year. 22 starters have get bigger, faster, stronger, smarter and its not easy when you are way behind.
And blaming an OC is wrong, he is so limited at the moment. Heâs been employed in the game a long time and saw what you saw plus much more.

This loss is tough to take with all the opportunities we had. I am proud of the team for bouncing back after MTSU. A whooping like that can make a team fold, but Lambert has them competing. The fan support (though I wasnt able to attend this one) is going to be huge for these kids. We were in our second Cusa game with a chance to win at the end. Iâll take it.
That said, there were mistakes made especially in not sticking with the run. I would blame the coaches as others have, but I wont go for calling for Lamberts job. Maybe he needs to make a change at OC, this seems to have worked for the defense (nothing could be done about mtsu) and Iâd be fine with that move. I do feel that making any HC changes before 2019 would be a horrible decision for us. Lambert may just be a .500 coach, which we wont know until at least next year, but for right now everything is still too stacked against us to tell.
Honestly Lambert is still exceeding my expectations on were I had this team in year three. We have seen where we need to get to and luckily for us there are a few more games in conference we have a chance in.
Go Niners!
Post game press conference.

The voice of reason. I am still water logged from last night but could not have been prouder of our fans. Hard to blame anyone for leaving in the 2nd half but we stuck with it. The game appears too fast for our QBs right now. Hopefully they can adjust. Sticking with one would probably be helpful. Running them in and out is probably not helping anyone get in a rhythm. They want to win, you can see it on the sideline but it just isnât happening with the rotation.
The defense was incredible last night. Coach Wally deserves a ton of credit. Anyone who thought that FAU is worse than Georgia State is crazy. The FAU defense was really good. They had just come over a five turnover game and werenât going to give this game away. They were going to make our offense beat their defense. We couldnât. They just kept grinding the ball.
I look forward to better weather on Friday. Our team needs us. I hope we have a great turnout Friday night.
