Favorite Charlotte 49ers Collectibles

Picking up the “piece of the floor” this week got me kinda thinking.

What are people’s favorite Niners collectibles?

I guess it could also extend to unusual items. As long as it doesn’t get too weird (such as someone saying “I have one of David Booker’s socks from the game when he scored his Niners career high”).

A couple that I have:

1- scale replica of the baseball stadium - not too rare. I think everyone at the baseball stadium dedication got one (or more). Not real big, but pretty cool.

2- “Davidson – Just a Bunch of Husseys” t-shirt - This was the equivalent of this year’s “Blackout” shirts during the 1983 or 84? season. Sold at Cone Center candy counter and was pointing fun at then-Davidson Head Coach, Bobby Hussey.

3- 1977 UNCC Final Four plaque - 10" (maybe 12") circle with a nice large old school Norm on it.

4- Mini basketball with an interior photo of Halton Arena - I think they gave these out near the end of the season during the year when Chancellor Woodward retired.

5- Bobbleheads. Got 'em all, but my favorites are Norm and Henry Williams.

 1. A piece of the net from the 1977 Mideast Regional final against Michigan.

 2. A 49er wall clock still in use, circa 1983 or so. I think there were only 25 produced.

 3. A team sweatshirt from the 1979-80 season. It’s a bit thin in places but was so thick originally it has held up this long. They don’t make them like that for any price today.

 4. A 49er baseball cap from the inaugural season. Oh, the fun had at old Crockett Park!

Nice.

Figured you would have some of the most unique stuff.

Picture of the clock?

The clock is on the wall at work, I’ll take a photo of it Monday and post.

I have the only known complete set of game programs from the 1976-77 season. The SID office doesn’t even have all from that season in the archives.

A couple of other items I’m proud of: an autographed 8x10 signed by Lee Rose, with both of us “working” during a basketball game; and a service plaque presented to me from the athletic department for work during that wonderful season.

I’ve got basketballs signed by a Jarvis and Triggers teams as well as the Rodney tesm. I’ve got poster of the Jobey senior year team.

My most unique item is a signed promo poster signed by Jarvis. There were 500 given out on MM in 94(?) It’s the one of him holding the broken goal. He told me that mine was the first one he signed.

Tintin

My dad has the big green “disk” from the opening of Halton in 96. First game was on my 16th birthday =) It has the old school Norm in the middle and resided in Judy’s office for several years…

the 1977 plaque is 14". i just measured mine.

My short list:

 1. Ticket from the first game in Halton. Was my last year at Charlotte.
 2. Complete set of bobbleheads. (4 of them autographed).
 3. Game tapes of our home wins against Louisville in 1994 and 1996. UL was ranked #5 when we beat them in 1994.
 4. Those who graduated in 1997 received a nice print of the then brand new Halton Arena. I had it framed and it hangs in my office.
 5. Signed basketball of the 01-02 team.

I have a basketball signed by the whole team. I am not sure what year, I guess I could figure it out but it has Diego, Jobey, Demon, Tremaine and some goodies like Dwiggins and KenKay Jones.

Better than that though are my warm ups from the same era. In fact, the jacket has Dwiggins’ name in it. I’ve lost my basketball build so I don’t wear the pants anymore…I owe it to the school not to go out in public like that…but I still wear the jacket to a few games every year. In fact it is black, so maybe it will show up at the Clemson game.

I liked the BEAT CINCY shirts.

For my birthday my Fiancee used the picture printer at Walmart and blew up some photos. She put them in nice frames and green & gold mats. They are Awesome… They really look professionally done. Just about brought a tear to my eye…lol… I think one picture came from NN.Ns own kevinharbin. It was last seasons W at Clemson. One is the Feb12 04 courtrushing after we beat Louisville… And another is a collage of all of last seasons guys. It has about 10-15 different action shots of all the guys. Its kind of hard to explain unless you have seen it at Walmart on the machine.

Also I gotta throw my bobbleheads in and my lucky 49ers poker chip.

Last but not least! 1st Charlotte 49ers Football from the rally!!!

:49ers:

My dad has a pair of mugs from the NCAA tourney run in 77. Other than the bobbleheads all I have is an old school UNCC yard flag and a 76-79 era penant from when my dad was at school

First time I saw it and the only one I think I've seen is at Old Hickory House on Tryon. I LOVE that sign. I'm hella jealous of you guys who have one. I always comment when I'm paying my bill how much I want that sign.

My collection is weak since I’m still a relative noob but I’ll try:

 1. Autographed #12 Leemire Goldwire jersey. Likely to stay #1 permanently since he is my favorite player by leaps and bounds.

 2. “Bearcat Watch” towels given out for the last Cinci game.

 3. Sigh… my 3 bobbleheads.

 4. Poster from the “retro game” vs. TCU on ESPN Classic.

 5. Charlotte 49er Football mini green football from the rally.

 1. A print of the Final Four Team players, Cedrick Maxwell, Lew Massey, Jeff Grubar, and coach Lee Rose by artist Gene Payne of the Charlotte Observer signed by all in 1977. 2. Basketball signed by all players on the 1977 Final Four team (sold and signed at 25th aniversary in 2002) 3. Bobblehead signed by Henry Williams 4.Bobblehead signed by Cedrick Maxwell

Framed and matted jersey with autographs and personalized messages from Bobby Lutz and Leemire Goldwire. I love this think more than life itself.

All of the bobbleheads.

I have a framed and matted basketball jersey, too. No autographs though.

In my office at work and I was focused on items around my house.

Where are you guys getting these Jerseys??

Where are you guys getting these Jerseys??

I can’t speak for anyone else, but mine was a Christmas present last year. My gf did it as a suprise present. She got the jersey from Nicole Kummer, who then got Lee and Bobby to sign it.

The plaque from the '77 season that a few on here have already mentioned, full set of bobbleheads (with autographs), autographed b-ball (circa 2000 I think), a couple “beat Cincy” shirts from the good ole days, some autographed trading cards and a couple Christmas ornaments.

I hope you plan on marrying that girl!!!
