Miller has gone 225-117 after the first 5 years. He was 28 or 29 when he first got the job at UNCG and not ready to be put in that position. It appears he learned from his mistakes and has been pretty solid since those early years. I really like Fearne as a person and I think he can be a really solid assistant, but I think he is what he is as a head coach. He’s been doing this a long time so I don’t think giving him another year or two is going to suddenly make him a better coach. We lose Mingo, Freeman, Harrison, Mading and Blackmon to graduation. Bonke, Conyers and Bradford are probably on the portal fence. There is no building anything from year to year anymore. I hate it for Fearne, but it was just time for a change.

Listen I was frustrated with our lack of success this year and the debacle of last year. It might have been time to move on, but this constant revolving door in our coaching ranks is killing our program. NIL and the open portal means we will be reloading each and every year. We need to hire someone that has proven they can be successful in that environment. Not sure any of the names listed on this board have shown that, especially Miller.
Yep, true that Fearne and Miller were both thrust into their HC positions due to the resignation of their respective “bosses” at Charlotte and UNCG. In Miller’s case, it occurred mid-season.
Yeah he was 29 with a couple of years of experience as an assistant and Fearne was 48 with 5 years as an assistant with the program and 9 years as an assistant and 9 years as a head coach in the NBL. I’m not saying Miller is the answer. I just think after 8 years it’s time to completely reboot the program with the best coach we can hire. Whoever that may be.

The mention of Bonke, Bradford Conyers on the fence about transferring ?… i am sure everyone knows their intent already and that was part of the calculous of letting Fearne go. Hope we can retain one, but doubt it, probably long gone.
Did you all see that FAU center playing for Texas last night, playing well.. i believe Bonke is even better and will be as sought after.

Would not hate it at all.
There has been no corroboration by any of the major outlets / social media accounts beyond consistent mention that Miller is in the running / the favorite.

I still think White had a very short list to make a hire as soon as possible to try to keep a few players.
