But we would have most years been in championship contention up till this year with Calimari lead Menpiss, probably made it at least a two bid league, and had a fairly decent FBS football home waiting for us. Considering what we have done in the A-10 basketball wise, I don’t see the downside to staying in CUSA.

I can only tell you what I’ve been told. CUSA supposedly wanted us and St. Louis stay but we both left because of basketball. The difference between us and St. Louis? We were 100% more likely to eventually have football but as I said above, Myopia U.
The best College Athletics Programs are PROACTIVE. Boise St., Utah, USF. We have never, at least in Judy’s tenure, been proactive about a d*** thing.
Football? WE made that happen, not them; and they obviously were not ready for it.
Getting into CUSA in 1995? That was reactionary too! We weren’t part of the original CUSA plan! We acted quickly to blackmail the schools the conference ACTUALLY wanted. We got lucky and sat on our laurels.

We would not let Louisville leave the Metro Conference without paying a major a penaty unless they took us with them..... at least that's my understanding.
Of course, there were lots of people in the state and city opposed to us joining CUSA. I understand some made the statement we belonged in the CAA. I’ll stop there.
judy rose has done an awful job. the way she made bobby “earn” an extension 2 years ago was bs, he cant recruit kids to come here if they arent even sure he will be here in there junior year and we couldve had football by now if it wasnt for her

Phil is the root of many problems. I have yet to be impressed by anything I’ve seen him do. Even his recommendation to go forward with football seemed forced. He is not the leader we need.
I’ve known Judy since she came to the school during my junior year. I have some question about her ability to handle the full athletic program when we get football, but I never question her commitment to the 49ers.

So you think she should have just fired Lutz?
Of course the buzz on this board was to fire Lutz just before he got the extension. Are we graduating a lot of Revisionist History majors these days?
I think this program could soar with Lutz as AD. He would put mens hoops #1, be able to play a round of golf with donors, knows finance, and IS A NINER.
He also will surround himself with people who give honest feedback not just what they want “she” wants to hear.
