It sounds like we have a bunch of liberals on this thread. You disagree with someone and put them down. I started the poll and put the options I wanted on there, biased or not. I put four negative options on there for a reason…I wanted to. Don’t read the thread if you don’t like it, and don’t vote. The results stand out that more people are concerned about Judy than those that support her. This thread was old and dug back up. Obviously somebody is interested.

I don't know who you're referring to, but you don't have to be a liberal to disagree with a comment like that.

The reason we don’t have football is because Judy’s sister’s nephew was paralyzed playing football and Judy vowed we would never have it at our school.

That same lie used to go around, except it said that Bonnie Cone's son had been paralyzed by football. Money is the reason for no football.

Also, can anyone give a reason besides football to get rid of Judy?

Good point. Football is obviously the main one, even though a certain ex-athlete will tell you she hasn't done enough for baseball. I see that our young track program produced an all-american and finished 3rd in the league meet. Now, I've got to say that men's soccer has not been nearly as good the past 5 years. But, 40 million in new facilities during her tenure (this doesn't include Halton) is pretty impressive.

i think i like her now she has made a drastic improvement of our athletic department since she has been here…and yesturday was the first time she has paid the band a compliment since she has been here

I’m torn on this one bc I think that she has done a good job with what she has. We dont have the alumni base that chapel hill or duke has to generate money. On the other hand she needs to step it up and not hire someone who will use us as a springboard to another job. That takes forking out the $. I heard that we pay Lutz around 300K a year if this is true then we need to be around the 500k range to keep someone.

I used to think Judy had done a good job with what she had - I’m on the fence right now.

Positives (as I see them);

  • going to the A10 over what will be a pathetic new C-USA
  • Preston Greene and his work with the basketball players
  • Facilities (Halton, practice facilities, weight room)

Negatives (as I see them);

  • Allowing such an “out” in the buy-out clause of Lutz’s contract
  • Fund Raising
    • (under fund raising) we have a lite-brite for a scoreboard
    • (under fund raising) our sound system in Halton sucks
    • (under fund raising) our assistant coaches make less than $30,000 a year
    • (under fund raising) we are asked to “step-up” to keep our coaches (that one really got to me - I give all I am able to. If that is not enough then you need to get people who DO NOT give to give.)

Could go either way;

  • Name change of the athletic department (it has only led to more confusion. don’t change it until you’re prepared to change the name of the school also).
  • no football (could help the city and students embrace us - could also destroy the athletic department as we now know it).

And I will be honest, the only sport I am really concerned with right now is mens basketball. It’s the only sport we can get decent attendance to and the only sport we have been good at for the last 15(+/-) years.
