Unfortunately you’re prob right. She’ll hire another person that’s just grateful for the opportunity. Happy to be #family

Yep. This type of person is less likely to push back and rock the boat. Coaching ability is secondary to Judy and Phil.

Judy’s MO is a coordinator. I would assume thats the direction she would go[/quote]

There are two reasons why she shouldn’t be the sole decision maker for a new coach: 1) See above + her track record; and 2) she is a short timer anyway. Though I know it seems like she will be here until the bitter end of all of us, realistically, there is a decent chance that the next hire’s contract will exceed her remaining tenure as AD. Accordingly, we should have a hiring committee to select the next coach, that committee should see that coordinators and assistants (basketball) haven’t gotten the results we want, and therefore, we should hire a proven lower level HC instead. That guy’s name is Mike Houston, and we should put together a total offer of $ and autonomy to build the program the way he wants, such that it realistically entices him, because he is likely going to get other G5 offers (including AAC), and possibly even a few lower level P5 offers.

One of her donors has to take the reigns and tell her how it works. She isn’t going to give up control willingly.

$375k/yr plus incentives. For us to be competitive with his future job offers, it will take $800k+/yr.

But… But… But that may cut into Judy’s planned budget for what she pays our women coaches.

I can’t believe you guys want to pay a FB Coach what he’s worth when that will hurt Judy’s chances of a Nat’l Title Coach in VB. :stuck_out_tongue:

I want to beat my head against the bricks everytime I have to walk by our overbuilt luxurious tennis facility on the way to our under built football stadium.

A few row of fold out chairs would have been sufficient.

Don’t get me wrong, I like that we have a nice facility, I just wish the logic was consistent.

Not sure why the tennis facility keeps getting brought up. Dale Halton gave a contribution SPECIFICALLY TO BUILD THE TENNIS CENTER. It wasn’t just built from general A.D. funds. It was either build it or don’t get the money. I can blame Judy for a lot, but not this.

Who was in Dale Halton’s ear telling her we needed a luxury tennis facility? How about asking her to help modernize the 20 year old basketball arena with her name on the front.

The longer we go with this staff is the longer we waste our time on this recruiting class.

clt says this is correct. If we are going to wait for the firing until after the season, we need to already have the replacement lined up and making calls.

We are more likely to wait and fire Lambert in January after the national championship game, and then begin a 3 month search for a new coach.

I know this was probably a little sarcasm, but this is exactly what the AD would do, it’s depressing and sad all at the same time.
