Fire Ron Sanchez

To be fair Green , uhhh, wasn’t very good

Well he or she is wrong. That’s not the story.

I liked Major from jump street for running off Spears. Freaking headcase

I won’t make this thread about major, but was happy he left. The sad thing is probably the best two HC we have had since Bobby are the interim coaches we have had.

I’m still thinking we finish 17-13… maybe 1 win at the cusa tourny depending on who we play… and we keep RS…lipstick on a pig!

All 17-13 aren’t equal. Get you a 10 seed from the SEC. should get a coach fired in CUSA.

You know that and I know that… but I can see the emails this summer now, “come see last years winning Charlotte 49er basketball team” it’s won’t be a lie… but like I said lipstick on a pig.

Anything over 500 and I don’t think Mike Hill fires him, hope I’m wrong…

Not to disagree or contradict, but this is the state of basketball today, IMHO. Everyone lives and dies by the 3, they have to. Shooters go cold, look at the Hornets, great looks, wide-open looks actually every night. But sometimes you go cold and for some reason that is contagious to the rest of the shooters.

Look, I think we need a change at the top as much as the next guy. Not because of recent games, good or bad, etc… it’s because I think the Princeton or Virginia offensive scheme is outdated and won’t work any longer and won’t be attractive/resonate to new recruits. We look like we are trying to be two different things, a team that is focused and dependent on the 3 and a team that recruits and games plans on defense. You can be a little of both but there are trade-offs…
We need a reset on the vision and direction of the program

But what do I know, I am just an old fat singer who died on a toilet

Elvis out!!!

This is my thought too. The system itself is a hard sell. The last 4 years feels like a decade. With the transfer rules changing, NIL, and the overall place we are at in the basketball world… it seems like we are at a disadvantage to be defense first and a Princeton offense.

For what it’s worth: VA beat dook last night at Cameron. Yes it was a low scoring affair with VA hitting a late 3 to win. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally.

I’d argue that Defense is not our calling card and we are a far more offensive minded team this year than previous Sanchez teams. Question is is this a one year thing or a philosophy change.

Did you hear the coach change his philosphy? Nah, we never really hear anything substantive from the coach at all…

Dude talks a lot about stops and effort, not scheme or strategy. Winning in spite of coaching, not because of it. All the evidence is there.

Most people don’t have to hear things to see it when it happens in front of them. You can see it on the floor, and actually watching him coach.

Youre right, all the greats speak in vague terms to where no one knows what their philosophy is. How silly of me. You can literally make excuses for anything to support ole Ronnie. Youll probably be elated when he’s retained after winning 17.

Next year when hes back to his below .500 ways, im sure youll be calling for a few more years. The bar is so low now its pathetic.

Never seen a coach win a game in a press conference or coach’s show is all I am saying.

I find 19 point half’s to be extremely offensive.

Funny how people listen to the same language and then disagree 180 degrees about what was said.
Because I believe that process leads to results and process should be emphasized, that’s what I hear from Ron. Others hear that he doesn’t care about results. I’m mystified that anyone would accuse any coach of not wanting to win.
Ron usually says he wants the team to get incrementally better with each practice. If they were to actually accomplish that, he and we would be happy.

We used to have another coach who never set specific goals as to number of wins and loses before the season started, winning the conference, etc. That person was prone to saying that we would be happy with the team by season’s end and leaving it at that. Weirdly enough, we won a lot without talking about winning. I’m not in a position to judge if Sanchez will fail or succeed, but I do believe that his setting specific goals or not won’t be a determining factor.
Sorry for the overly long post.

We have def had some putrid shooting nights, but unlike previous years we are actually shooting the ball quicker and getting into the offense faster. Those shots might not fall, but we aren’t basically dribbling the ball until under 10 on the shot clock just to shrink the offensive possessions in a game.
