Fire Ron Sanchez

Towson outplayed Siddle’s team for the last 75% of the game. Never took their foot off the gas.

No. When theyre fired, which seems inevitable

Sanchez on pace for that .500 season.

I am feeling awfully pessimistic. I think it’s a lose lose situation. We are either going to keep Sanchez when he doesn’t deserve it, or we fire him and watch all the guys I do like (Khalifa, Young) bounce to greener pastures.

I hate this so much.

Yup - exactly how I feel

A young, winning, energetic coach can keep those guys. Weve seen repeated mass exoduses because weve hired guys with the personality of a church pew.

It’s possible, but the reality is kids come to play for a coach not a school. With not having to sit out I’d expect them to leave. Obv hope that wouldn’t be the case, but year 1 almost always sucks. And they deserve to not go thru a rebuild.

I have no clue why any of these kids would come play for Sanchez…in all honesty…what is his pitch??

He’s not getting you to the league…
His system is not designed to showcase offense at all…
He prefers defense and low scoring games…which is not a fun brand of ball to play…
He doesn’t necessarily have a magnetic personality (or any personality)…
He doesn’t win…

Seriously…what makes these kids want to come here and play for Sanchez??
I honestly have no clue.

So…you can’t tell me a new coach with pedigree, excitement, passion (and with some semblence of a personality)…and a more open system of play…who has a history of winning…would absolutely blow these kids away!!

If these kids can commit to what Sanchez has to offer…no reason to think they wouldn’t want to stay and play for a real coach that knows how to run a winning system.

I don’t think the guys on our team are great, but if they all leave, we know what kind of crap that leads to. The best way to keep our good players is the hire a guy right now. If a great coach somehow is finally hired, you still don’t want him coming into a season with no bench. This has went too far already. If a player comes here now, it’s for the place. It surely would not be to play for this coach, that is, unless he is the prettiest ugly chick that is calling

That’s been the biggest head scratcher for me. If I was Garcia Young and a few others I’d have already left. Hell Georgetown wanted jahmir after his first year. For what ever reason they like Sanchez. It could be that the platitudes do nothing for us but really help the kids. I dunno.

You may have figured it out. See? That growth and learning stuff does work.

Maybe they like s free education and a coach who doesn’t aak much of them. I’m partially kidding but i can’t figure this out either. I fully expected a mutiny after last season & some how we only lost bench players. Nothing about that makes sense.

Our basketball program is finished. Nobody cares to know it exists outside of here. Irrelevant. Pathetic. Embarrassing to acknowledge it exists. An epic failure for Hill

People look like they feel sorry for me if I even bring the Niners up. We are so far beyond irrelevant its disgraceful. We are nothing to the community at large. Nothing.

clt says we need to divert support to Karen.

You know the response coming from our U will be in the form of a question “Will you give$$$?” No

I have decided Sanchez must be some sort of mind f@ ck guru or a Jim Jones type cult personality to have these kids follow him like this and still look so uninspired. Only other answer would be they are being paid to stay this last year. Its mind boggling.

Maybe if the entire team entered the portal, Ron would resign or be fired. We could really start over then.

Would Clt be agreeable to dropping men’s basketball and using the saved resources for women’s sports?
If we did that we wouldn’t have to add anything to satisfy Title 9 requirements, thus saving more money.
We could also probably hire a kick ass assistant for Cara. That would also solve the problem of constant bad hires at the position of men’s basketball head coach. I await Clt’s assessment of this idea.

Best opportunity to restore a lot of the lost fan base.
Gives us immediate hope as he led our program during the longest period of time with sustained relevance.
Would rekindle my fire, and many like me.
