NWA is right, apparently being an ass is your default setting.
At least I am not you Ted.
Thank goodness.
Though, then there would be one more reasonable person posting on here.
What do you consider to be reasonable? Wait, by reasonable do you mean lowering our expectations and not criticizing our coach no matter how deserved?
Ted,
What would you consider a successful season next year for Coach Sanchez?
Nope. I think being reasonable is pointing out areas that the staff needs to improve, such as recruiting more athletic players to be able to compete better. But also acknowledge what theyâve done right.
Unreasonable would be saying the staff sucks and needs to be fired, even though the team improved this past year. Or saying they need to win so they get hired away.
How did they improve? They played a bad schedule and still only won 18 games, finished below 500 ina 1 bid league, lost 7 of last 11 and again failed to win a cusa tournament game. Worse programs have fired coaches quicker
Bump.
Ted. Your thoughts.
Repeat as the champions of the best basketball tournament in Daytona next March?
Yâall are meaner to Ted than his wifeâs boyfriend.
This is not unreasonable - it is absolutely perfect.
Love the short term memory some if you have. We finished behind a final 4 team and the two NIT finalists. Based on that, most teams would have finished where we did.
But I forget, itâs all to serve the narrative.
We finished below 500 in cusa. We lost to utsa. Tell me where you saw progress. But i guess its okay bc the teams ahead of us were good. At what point is it okay to fire sanchez? If we are 7-11 in conference next season, would you support firing him then? How about constantly losing our best players and bring proud of sending them to P5 schools? Again, why should we believe we are headed in the right direction?
I would say that since itâs year 3 post Covid, factoring in loosing our top 3 scorers the past two years, and not even seeing how the replacements look on court yet, that finishing in the top half of a tougher conference should probably be a likely outcome. Without having a clue as to what the OOS will look like yet, I would still like to see us get to 20 wins.
Whenever Mike decides. The last time I looked at the Athletic Department staff, you werenât the AD.
Yeah. Sanchez getting to 20 winâs would be an improvement, no doubt.
I never said i was but by that logic, do you always support people in power and assume theyâre msking the right decisions?
We were playing the last place team in the league with a conference bye on the line and lost. To me that right there is a perfect display of Sanchez and this program. Itâs as close to a must win as possible and he failed. Ron has been amazingly consistent in being somewhere between bad and not very good with Freshmen of the year and CPOY level talent.
I just donât know what you see that makes you have any confidence next season will be anything different.
I think itâs telling that rather than saying at this point Ron should be the team finishing in top 2 of NIT or making an NCAA run you say well hey we lost to those teams so itâs ok. Itâs all about a mentality and honestly yours and Ronâs is a loser one.
Just remember we have football not because of an AD but because of a fanbase that demanded. This fanbase then forced the departure of that AD. I would not go so far as to say the AD or decisions at that level is beyond our reach.
