Mike specifically talked numbers in the last board of trustees meeting. He said weād make roughly a million dollars more our first year in the aac and it would step up from there, but he didnāt say how much.
The aac signed a two year extension with espn of the current contract a few weeks ago.
most contracts offset. In other words Satterfield makes the same amount regardless, just whatever we pay him lowers the amount Louisville is on the hook for.
I hear Paul Cryst is now available. No thanks. But what does that say about a program that says enough is enough vs. one that says, what are our options?
And discount any coaching wins vs. FCS teams when doing the math on records. But count the losses like AT&T and W&M.
I think if we could slam together Lambertās defensive skills and āold school waysā with Healyās energy and rah-rah flex powers weād have a half-way decent G5 head coach.
I donāt think anyone is disagreeing with you on this. What I said in another thread is that expansion is going to happen, thereās no need to debate it. Weāre underachieving with what we currently have.
Of course stability is beneficial. But weāre underachieving with what we have to work with. I donāt know this for a fact, but I suspect our turnover and budget is comparable to our peers. We know App has had 3 sucessful coaches over a 3 year span. JMU has been 103-31 since Houstonās departure. Jeff Traylor at UTSA is 22-9 in just 2 1/2 years.
The argument about climbing the mountain and paying the staff is more true in comparison to P5 schools. But we have bad losses to UTEP, William and Mary and FAU.
Iām not sure how we stack up on assistant salaries versus these peers, but I donāt disagree with you about us underachieving and did not mean to offer it as an excuse. I think itās just a contributing factor to our suckage. At some point we have to exceed our limitations instead of constantly playing well, well below them.
I thought Cignetti was running the option at Elon and would be at JMU too, which is why I was never interested in him. Is he running a more standard offense? Because the results canāt be argued with.
The only other issue with him is that he is 61 already. No spring chicken.
Why would Chryst even be interested in a job here? Unless he has close family in the metro region I know of zero ties he has to the Carolinas. Does he have a beach or mountain home down here?
Chryst doesnāt need the work. Heās set financially.
