Football Coach Candidates?

Rossomandos record at Division 2 New haven was 42-13 over 5 years, after moving up to FCS Central Connecticut his record was 23-34 over 5 years, and I dont know how we all of a sudden learned to run the ball against Rice, maybe it was Healy holding us back, but previously, our offensive line had the inability to run block since Rossomando has been the OL coach, and I am just not excited by the thought of Rossomando potentially running our program next year, even if he wins out, I just think that there are more intriguing coaches that would be available and interested

Florida State gets 4 star players no matter who the coach is. That doesn’t mean he will do that here. I wouldn’t be upset with an Atkins hire but I would prefer someone with more experience who has built an entire program & coaching staff somewhere else. And we were 2-5 & getting beat by terrible teams in 2019 before the 5 game winning streak to end the season. Atkins was offensive coordinator for the first 7 & the bowl game where we got our butts kicked by Buffalo & our offense couldn’t do anything. He may turn out to be a great head coach but I would prefer someone who’s done it before.

If we win out & look good doing it like we did this past Saturday it proves that everything we thought about this staff was wrong & there was one person holding everyone back. I don’t think that’s likely to happen but if it does, Rossomando deserves an interview & at least a chance to be on the new coaches staff.

Some of y’all crack me up. This job isn’t an SEC gig. We don’t get the pick of the litter. Shoulda learned that last go round…

You don’t think Ron Rivera would take this job in a heartbeat? John Fox? My hope is Vince Lombardi. He’s not doing anything right now

Would love to know what coaches have contacted Hill in reference to the job.

Let’s look at those 5 losses. At Clemson,(14-1) at app state(13-1, while scoring 41 points), Fau who was 11-3 that season, western Kentucky who was 9-4 and FIU who was 6-7. So FIU we shouldn’t of lost but the other 4 teams were 47-9 that season. Not sure what bad teams we were losing to early that season.

Mullin has been on campus in the past week. Drove to Charlotte from his lake house at Lake Oconee.

Who is Mullin?

Is this for real or a rumor?

Unless he wants to provide pictures or a sourced link, it’s the flemsiest rumor ever.

When the name isn’t spelled right, then probably just BS.

Well, the poster, Coach, just lost all of my respect and assumption of any truth in any of their future posts.

Interesting.

Find it interesting that folks on here and on social media think the best we could hope to attract is an unproven assistant, etc while meanwhile this prediction has FAU poaching Ga Southern’s HC, UTEP landing Tom Herman, and North Texas landing an NFL coach, amongst other examples.

I think folks need to realize that there are exactly 131 FBS jobs, and that makes all of them desirable. We also have a lot of other factors that make this one more desirable than others.

Also, Skip Holtz to UAB and Bill Clark to WVa is kinda wild in general. I also cannot see Jeff Traylor at Ga Tech - he will likely stay in state. He is a Texas guy through and through.

If you believe the Jerry Mack rumors:

I’m not feeling the Mack love, I want someone with a larger resume (Mullen, Holtz, etc), a schematic genius (Golesh)., or somewhat of a combination of the two (Atkins). A position coach with (1) year as an OC at Rice is a huge gamble that we’re not in a position to make.

I see they mentioned Ruffin McNeil for NC State. I would put him in the same category at Skip Holtz in terms of proven winner that we can afford. It will be intresting to see what happens.
