Football Coach Candidates?

That might be true but that one year was a very good year in the conference that we’re heading to (if I’m not mistaken). He’s not the first candidate on the list but I believe he’d be an upgrade over Healy

Don’t settle.

Dare to be great.

0721, almost anyone would be a upgrade over Haley.

No argument against that :joy:

I agree. We shouldn’t settle. My hope is we get a HC w experience building and leading a program. Frost has done that. I’m sure there will be better candidates at the end of the season though. I just hope Mike isn’t afraid to pull the trigger.

Skip Holtz was on our sideline yesterday and apparently has been every game this season. Guess he is just a guest since his son is on the staff but he could take over mid season and I would be fine with that. Give him a head start on next year.

So is his daughter.

Think ya gotta be careful with skip. If you bring him in midseason and he loses might make it more difficult to bring him back next season with his own staff. Just something to think about.

I’d be careful with Holtz. Apparently Healy talks to him multiple times per week and asks for input…think we would want totally fresh perspective.

Just curious - how often has a new coach been brought in mid-season?

It’s true but we also had Ryan Odom on Majors staff and Ryan was a much better coach.

But that has just started this season. Healy has spent the last 3 years screwing this program up. Skip had nothing to do with that & can’t possibly fix that by giving Healy input a few times a week. I think it would be best to let Healy finish out the season & find the best possible replacement after the season. There may be better options, but i wouldn’t be disappointed if we ended up with Skip. He has the connections to build a really good staff & the experience to know how to make this program respectable. At this point respectable would be great cause we are currently far from it.

I wouldn’t mind skip holtz. but I would still have tom herman and scott frost ahead on my list. And like others have said I would still want to wait until the end of the season to see what potential candidates will be out there after everyone gets canned. If Greg Schiano gets let go I’m for sure putting him in my top 5 list. and I should add that jimbo could get added on the list after what happened to him last saturday

Calling Dr. Meyer, Dr. Urban Meyer, emergency come right away! Patient critical.

clt says keep Meyer away from your females

clt remembers having nightmares that UNC CHeat would get Heals from us

We can sacrifice a few females to the gods of winning.

The problem with some ā€œhot commodityā€ coaches is that their body of work is simply not large enough to gauge any meaningful probability of success. Scott Frost has ONE good season and he’s considered the BEST candidate at Nebraska, no less. It shows how grasping and desperate they were, and, he of course only fit b/c he’s also a busker.

Solich went 58-19 in Lincoln and got run out of town. Sad, and also sick. That era surely looks golden now.

Hindsight is 20/20. Frost was offered every job that year. Florida, Oregon, etc…

I have family that lived near him in Lincoln. He ain’t coming here. He’s racked up 40 million in a few years. Guys like him, Mullen, Herman aren’t realistic.

We need a program builder and it’s why I’m interested in a guy like Skip Holtz.
