Football facilities and expansion
There is absolutely no reason why we can’t sell out a 15k stadium and selling out a 25k stadium shouldn’t be an insurmountable challenge.

That falls squarely on the AD and the lack of effort/creativity/talent they show for selling tickets.
Having more of the 24,000+ students here that give a damn would help too.

Enthusiasm is infectious… I can’t blame the students for not giving a damn when the AD doesn’t

Our student section for football brought out more kids then UVA, Cincy, Chapel Hill, Kentucky, Arkansas, Oregon, Fresno, etc etc

Our students want a winner, don’t blame the bad attendance on us, blame it on the AD, lack of winning and bad marketing.

The student crowds were great… I think the initial comment was more at the fact we have 24k and should have the student allotment and then some for every game, but getting asses in seats is a burden… Totally agree with you comments on the selling of the program to the masses.

Noon kickoffs blow…
Noon kickoffs blow…
Yep. I’d rather forgo any TV money to play all evening games if we could. While I appreciate ASN, we shouldn’t allow a network that provides $0 to the school to dictate when we play. You can make the argument that ASN can hurt us financially by forcing us to play at game times that aren’t ideal for ticket sales.

Unless we are on ESPN proper, screw noon kicks

Sadly most college football games start at 12pm on Saturdays. Most of FBS/FCS is in this same position every weekend.

See my signature from a Brad Lambert radio interview

The money we get from our C-USA TV deal tells us what time to play. ASN is included in that deal.

Getting on TV matters in recruiting regardless of what time the game is. It sucks sometimes but if tv partners say do this then you do it.

I hate 12:00 kicks too, but on the flip side we get to see the road games that we wouldn’t otherwise if ASN wasn’t part of the deal. ASN is still in its infancy as well, hopefully the dollars will start coming in from our relationship with them at some point in the near future.

They produce and distribute these games all over the country on their dime. That’s a nice contribution.

Word is that ASN wont be getting content for free any more.

Chips and salsa money?

Noon kickoffs are not ideal, but you’ll have 1-2 every year regardless. As a student I do understand the lack of enthusiasm. I go to most every sporting event I can on campus, but many students this season after the FAU it seemed became disinterested. Factor in the flood from the story of Noah’s Ark happening in that game, and the Temple game and it becomes easy just to tailgate…and just stay at the tailgate.
However, I think more wins=more students at the games. The incentives for students with pick ax points is pretty good with the ability to win prizes when you get a certain number of points, certainly makes me more excited to go to a volleyball game.
In 2016, the Niners will be better than 2-10 and I think as they continue to improve you’ll see bigger crowds of students coming, and actually staying…unlike the greek life who peaced out in the 2nd quarter of every game regardless of the score lol

I’m much more annoyed with the streams of kids leaving the student tailgate away from The Rich before the gamethan the ones that leave when we’re down three touchdowns at halftime.

I agree, that irritates me too.
