Reading about the idea of smashing our old sign for $ per hit got me thinking. Surely there are some fundraisers we can pull off to help the cause. If the school is going to do it wrong (again), itās up to us to do it and there must be something we can do. We canāt just let this go mishandled and end up failing.
There have to be a few fundraisers that a group of our size can pull off. Anyone agree? Anyone want to start trying to put something together?
This is a new idea to me, so I havenāt thought of any great fundraisers, but perhaps a gigantic garage sale type deal would help. I almost think the possible publicity we could get would be worth more than any money.
Think about it: we make ourselves out to be the devoted, faithful Niners out to do whatever it takes to make this thing happen. Not just for ourselves, but for the betterment of the entire city. Thereās your news story right there. You could get people from all over to donate stuff and come buy stuff. If we had some really cool stuff, we could auction it. Sure we have the other auction, but this would be different. One time thing and less exclusive.
No clue how much we could get, certainly not enough to put a big dent in football expenses, but every bit helps and maybe that money could be used to raise more money. I bet we could raise a few thousand and you gotta start somewhere. That could be a few less FSLs we are dependent on selling. Anyone with me?
Oh, and I donāt care if a garage sale sounds hokey or something. We are a public University and an underfunded one at that. We canāt afford to try and pass ourselves off as some elitist group of people above doing a garage sale.
Perhaps we could locate some fine ass babes and auction off a few dates. Shouldnāt be hard to do with the talent at our school. I suppose we could auction off a few guys too.
Havenāt been to too many garage sales, but those Iāve been to have not reached more than a few hundred dollars. Given the scale of funds needed, Iām not sure a garage sale would be seen in a positive light. The garage sales Iāve been to attract an audience that wants a deal. They donāt care where the money goes. But, this is just one personās opinion.
However, the idea of raffling off some PSLs is worthy of discussion. I think there is something here to try and capitalize on.

I hear ya, but did you go to huge garage sales? I'm thinking multiply that hundred dollars return by A LOT more donors. Then consider that people may be more generous since it is going to a worthy cause. Throw in some cool items, like rare Niner stuff and maybe some old Hornets and other sports teams stuff and you've got something. Include other random stuff like auctioning off dates and a bake sale or w/e and you've got an event that will be reported on by the news giving us more pub that we desperately still need.

Best thing we can do is try to get things like autograpghed Bobcat and Panther stuff, donated Richard Petty experience, vacation time at hotels that kind of high end thing and then silent auction it all off. Get the panthers or the speedway to host the event for free - charge for ticekts to the event with catered food. You have to make this high end to get people with $$$ in.
I like the garage sale idea - just donāt think that even on a really high level it would make that big of an impact and could actually work against us in the media - just my thought.

get you waxed up and put your hair in a ponytail, thereās your beauty queen.
But as a whole the fund raising thing is a great idea.
-Raffling off 2FSLās is a must
-Love the Auction, Iām sure Coach Lutz could help us get our hands on some items.
-If we could do something big and public by Belk Tower, we could generate a lot interest from the students passing by, bring in donations and potentially sell a few FSLās
āIdeaās for big public events, sell tickets to take on a basketball player in a 3pt shootout(not sure if that is within NCAA regulations though)
āGet someone in the AD to bring a Carolina Panther in and have kids pay to throw the ball, try to tackle etc.
I love the fact that we are getting ideas together. Up to this point since the yes vote, us (the fans) and NN.N in particular have been way too quite and only reacting to negative news. Time to generate some positive effort on our own!:49ers:
Right here, I think if we pull all this stuff together, and do all these things, we have a nice little chunk of money coming in. Again, not enough to put much of a dent in the football issue, but if we work this hard for it and help pitch in as much as we can, it wonāt die. And maybe, if our events get enough publicity, a nice big time donor will want to get his name attached to our tireless efforts and put us over the top.

I agree, auction is nice. Iām not just looking for the big buck tho. I think we need every buck we can get. I donāt think we are going to get the average joe in a silent auction with a pay way more than itās actually worth dinner; I want the average joeās money.
Not to mention I think we get more pub with the garage sale cause it will have more people. Either way, I think every activity we do is good because it raises even a little money and another opportunity for someone, even that random poor guy, to spend his hard earned buck on an FN SL.
I think I see how it could work against us in the media, but it seems silly. We want this team. Whatās wrong with us working to make it happen in any decent way possible?
The website doesnāt tell what college the Grad School Planning Student got his Under Grad from, but in the written version, it was US!
Please tell me someone in the ADās office has called this guy about $1 mil, $500K, $250K, $125K, $64K, something???
Jeffrey Wilson Stadium anyone?
So if I bid $75-$100 on a date with a hot chick, exactly what am I getting?
I would assume that since Iām a FSL Owner, a Niner Nation. Net member, a CFI member, & a 49er Club Member, I should get 4 times the āextrasā some Joe off the street would get. LOL.
And my car is pretty dirty if we do a car wash. I might need several.
Ive always thought that that top 5 returning students that have he highest amount of loyalty points should get to scrimmage the bball team at midnight madness. But if you auctioned off (or silent auction) spots on a 10 man roster you could pull in some bankā¦
Not sure if its in NCAA regulations but seems like some people would pay money for that.

As long as these students have eligibility and have never played professionally I see no NCAA issues with this.
