Letās not forget things come down to the almight dollar. Some guys could have turned us down based on $$$.
Iāll support whomever we decide to hire
100%
you first.
lolololololol
Awesome. This line isnt getting nearly enough love.
People also miss that he did all of that at a BCS school, with an established program, tons of support already there and plenty of big donors willing to doll out checks. He was also an alumn of the school. He would have none of these things in his favor as a coach here. Itās easy to do big things when you have the resources to make it happen.
I personally think peopleās expectations as to how big a ānameā coach we could get have been over inflated from the start. Had Chuck never made his interest in this job so public what kind of coach were you all expecting? One need only look at USF, UAB, ODU to see the most likely kind of candidate we would get. Possibly a former head coach at the FCS level, most likely an assistant from a FBS school.
Chuck wonāt be our coach. So if those of you are in the NBC club and havenāt purchased your sackcloth for the wailing and gnashing of teeth you need to get on it.
For those who support this school and this program but wanted Chuck, move past it and prepare to be on board with whoever we hire. The new coach deserves that much from our fans.
I think you misinterpreted what I said ⦠I was merely pointing out some of the upside to Chuck Amato. I will be 100% behind whoever we hire, however, I still feel that Chuck would have been a decent hire - that is all.
Chuck Amato stole MKās lunch money
You know, thatās something I donāt like to talk about. And screw you for bringing up such a painful memory.
Why would people even apply then, did we not put on the official thing how much we were going to pay them, figured it would be common knowledge.

Haha glad you took it in stride since youāre such the āAnti-Amatoā on here.
I donāt believe heās anti-amato, I think heās just tired of the, āif itās not Amato, Iām pissedā crowd.
That said, Lambert would be a let down (to me personally).

I donāt either⦠I said that in gest.
I donāt see Lambert being discussed on the Wake board anymore.
Do they think he is staying or do they just not care?
My guess is they donāt care.
Not Amato, Bowden, Fulmer, Lambert.

Iām not going to pass judgement⦠Learned my lesson after the Yanks hired āClueless Joeā Torre in 95.

When did Lambert exit consideration?

I think the real question here is when did Charlotteguy provide one correct scoop? Can anyone think of one time where he had pre-released news that has turned out to be correct?

This is a fair point and should be explored.
Theres no such thing as correct scoops around hereā¦everybody knows about David Scottās contract āYoure the only we will tell anything as long as you promise to break the news when and how we tell you toāā¦believe whatever you want, I donāt care, i just pass along any info I get. If itās wrong itās wrong. If itās right, itās right.
