Ha! Kick me sign, consider yourself kicked.
1 crime is a decrease from 2 crimes.
1000 crimes is less than 1500, etc.
Less crime doesn’t mean no crime.

Yea, I know, but the timing is what I found humerous.
Don’t the doors still have peepholes???

I had heard there was a robbery at the Circle K, I didn’t realize it was right here at Campus Edge.
They had police at the front gate last night, checking every vehicle for any suspicious activity.
This is getting ridiculous, two apartments robbed at gunpoint in one week. “Crime down in the area” for sure.
WTF? How can the cops lie to us? The cops told us it was a robbery at the Circle K
Crime IS decreasing on campus, but off campus it is INCREASING. Big time. And by the descriptions witnessess are giving the police, they’re teens. Early teens as well (saw where one was listed as 5’2").
Don’t know if we want to open up this can of worms but anyone think the ban of firearms on campus adds to the problem. If the person trying to rob someone doesn’t know if the place he’s going into has someone loaded he’s more hesitant.

Robberies and theft might decrease, but I guarantee the overall number of people being shot would rise. Just a simple dorm room drunk squabble could quickly escalate.
Guns + alcohol + belligerent college students?

After Virginia Tech and Saint John’s, I would think lifting the ban would be a bad idea.
VT proves lifting the ban would be a GOOD idea.
You can’t shoot a nut if someone responsible isn’t packing.
VT proves lifting the ban would be a GOOD idea. You can't shoot a nut if someone responsible isn't packing. You would see more gun violence if guns were allowed on campus. For example, if someone got into a fight, it would be a lot more likely that you get shot over it if guns are easily accessible.
Anyone that thinks having more guns on campus is a good idea is simply a moron.
News story about the Campus Crime tonight on WCNC Channel 6.
Look for me
You wouldn’t get a gun if you were the person who used it in fights.

Pretty sure a lot of criminals and thugs have guns. We have plenty of thugs on campus. Every campus does.
Like I said didn’t really want to open this can of worms but I guess it already has been opened.
One of the issues I have is the sign at the entrances of the campus that says “Firearms are prohibited on campus” or something of that nature. If I was looking to rob someone and was packing, I’d think, great no one else has a gun I can go knock on anyones door and rob them and don’t have to worry about them having a gun to protect themselves. Like someone said earlier the people that are doing the robbing aren’t charlotte students, so why do we have to advertise that people can’t protect themselves on campus?
The second issue I have is with the campus edge safety, I lived there in 2004 and their were people getting robbed then also, its a bad place to be in because the campus police can’t do anything, I don’t understand why they don’t have more real charlotte police at those apartments with the history of the thefts at that complex.
The best solution is to give every college student apartment a vicious guard dog for protection. The kind that will rip your arm off if you look at it the wrong way.
What criminal is going to cause trouble around a campus with a policy like that?

Last year wasnt soo bad.
This year its just nasty… 3 within a week…
I’ll tell you what it is. Campus Edge hasnt fixed any of their security measures. None of their camera’s work, their key card thing has been broken forever, and their gate has never worked.
Only the good people get LEGAL guns.
Criminals will always get their’s ILLEGALLY. Gun laws only punish the LAW-Bearing who follow them. Criminals don’t care about laws.
