On campus too, thatâs huge!
This is the kind of game that will help build the program both home and away. We need to show up big in Durham.
Big time home game.
And an away game I see a lot of our fan base making.
Nice addition! Very happy with this announcement.

No. We are pissed because our AD fucked up not having lights until season 3 and even with lights we still have shitty noon kick offs in the heat and so early when no one wants to come.
As far as the other poster comment that all we can do is bitch thatâs not true. We can also vote with our dollars and if this BS keeps up we are going to lose fans.
This argument is ridiculous⌠I grew up a Florida Gator fan (still my second team, sorry!) and I remember attending many of their home and away SEC games with noon/afternoon kick offs in areas where it was also insanely hot. Gainesville, Knoxville, Columbia, Nashville, etc⌠It happens to every team. Our fans need to suck it up, attend the games, and have a good time. If you love having football at Charlotte, youâll be there.

I have been there for every other game in the heat and I will be there for these. So get off your high horses.
Doesnât mean I canât complain.
And the heat isnât the biggest issue.
The issue is itâs year 3 and we are still faced with shirty game times, including a seriously fucked up Friday night game.
And not just 1 game. Right now 3.
What are you guys gonna say if the other two have oddball start times?
Still going to be so gung ho if we only get to use these lights on one Saturday night?
You seriously underestimate the affect that these horrible start times have on attendance.
Iâve already had several non hard core fans ask me why we are still having games starting at Noon now that we have lights. These are casual fans representative of the casual fans that we need if we are going to build a fan base. These folks donât give a crap about TV deals or conference obligations. They just see games not being played at night and wonder what the fuck is wrong with us.
What about all the people that come in from out of town to watch the games. They arenât all going to be able to get off work on a Friday and make it to Charlotte.
Hell I know a lot of people that work in Charlotte that will struggle to make it to the Friday night game at 7.
The people on this board are going to keep going no matter what but the people on this board are not enough to fill that stadium.
Whatever.
I guess TV rules everything.

No, you need to get off your high horse. The only game on our schedule that poses a threat to heat/attendance is Presbyterian. And who cares⌠Itâs our first home game and will have decent attendance anyways. Our next home game with a noon kickoff is late October in which the average high is around 70. Sounds like great football weather to me. We have 2 night games early in the season. Iâm happy about it.
Playing Duke home & home in 2020 and 2021!

Yes, they are scheduled to play @ the Rich in 2021, assuming they donât buy out.
This has to mean that we are planning expansion.

clt daps the herald sun, paper of record for 49er sports.
Itâs well known that we will complain about every damn thing.

This will always be an issue unless we decide we donât want our home games broadcasted. Drink plenty of water and wear a hat.
But youâre right, the AD is to blame. Why in the world would they build our stadium in the south? Donât they know itâs hot down here?

I wonder if there is (Iâm assuming so) a provision in the contract that says the Rich has to have xx,xxx amount of seats in the stadium in order to satisfy this contract?

I am not fan of the AD and I am no fan of noon kicks - but if it happens here and there then thats what it is. ECU played their home opener a few years ago at noon for TV. It happens. As long as it doesnât become the norm then I will just complain about how hot it is and enjoy a warmer than I prefer football game. Not the end of the world and of all the things screwed up with how we do things, this is one of the lesser things to bitch about.
TV pulls in more fans and money than the fans we lose because of a noon kickoff. Have to also remember that the worst time for kickoff is 3pm not noon.
I bet nobody is upset that other teams will have crappy start times to accommodate television when it allows us to watch games on TV instead of trying to find a terrible internet feed to watch.
If having a few noon games means that I get to watch every one of our games (or at least the vast majority) on television, Iâm good with that.

Or we could plan on temporary bleachers for that specific game if needed.
Well,

Thatâs a good question. I wonder what our plan is?
