Yes, they are scheduled to play @ the Rich in 2021, assuming they don’t buy out.

This has to mean that we are planning expansion.
I wonder if there is (I’m assuming so) a provision in the contract that says the Rich has to have xx,xxx amount of seats in the stadium in order to satisfy this contract?
That’s a good question. I wonder what our plan is?
This is probably how it goes in the AD.

For the record Drax and Rocket are our fans, Groot is the Big Donor and Gamora and StarLord are AD.

I doubt it’s in the contract, but I’m sure it means expansion.

It’s post like this that make me realize that I’ll never be nerdy enough to fit in with most of this board.

LOL It was a killer movie!!

More television games- WIN
Home and Home series with Duke- WIN

Congrats to the AD for making these happen. These are great moves for the program, fanbase and $. If you don’t get that, I suspect you weren’t a business major at Charlotte.

Yep. In terms of heat, it is hotter at 3, but I think those wanting 3pm kickoffs are those trying to get over a hangover from the night before and/or having enough time tailgating before kickoff trying to get another hangover started. Jus’ sayin’.

Well unless the game is played at night, either way the game will still be occurring at 3pm; only difference is will it be the 1st quarter or 4th.

In the summer we move it up an hour. For all games played during daylight savings time the hottest time of the day is between 4-6pm. http://www.news10.net/story/weather/2014/06/10/heat-radiation-temperatures/10304571/

It really doesn’t matter - Noon kick, 2, 3, 5 it’s all going to be hot. The angle of the sun in our stadium, without any upper deck for shade, though does play a huge part. The difference in temp from the alumni side to the student side is HUGE. The time though does impact the crowd in the stadium - student turn out for the noon game with the sun angle is very poor. If we want the stadium expanded we have to balance TV needs with people at the game. The bottom line though is anything before 7 or so is going to be hot. As I said I don’t mind this one too much - as long as we try to keep early season games happening later, preferable evening.

The heat is not such a big deal to me as the sun angle is. I’m full-in cracker and come in two shades, normal translucent, and burnt crispy.

Yeah, sorry, but I’m not picking my son up at school at 2:30 on the 11th, driving 4.5 hours to my parents house for the night with a 3 and 7 year old, getting my wife and oldest kid up at 6 AM to drive over an hour to get valuable tailgating time and location, to sit in what will likely be ~90 degree direct sunlight at noon to 3 on September 12th.

If that makes me a fickle fan, so be it.

noon games mean an extra layer of Gold Bond and bunch of extra sweat for me… And I don’t bring my kids because they bleed me dry buying every frozen concoction sold at the Rich because they are “hot”

clt says we need to dome the stadium.

I also live 4.5 hrs away and i won’t be on here complaining about what a long drive i have etc etc i just won’t go to the game.

I live less than 10 min away and odds are I won’t go to a noon game during September and some October games if the games are televised. I’ve seen, sweated and experienced. I’ll watch in the a/c somewhere while drinking alcohol.

The teams will play at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham in 2020 and at Charlotte’s Jerry Richardson Stadium in 2021.

I hope we expand to 40k before App State comes to town in 2018 im so going to that game then the game in Boone the next year. My dad attended UNCC when we went to the final four in 1977 and i just graduated from UNCC last December and my brother graduated from App State in 2013. We should play App State every year that would be awesome.

With the trend in college football being declining attendance, it likely would not be wise to jump from 15k to 40k. I anticipate seeing something in the 25,000 range announced.

I base that on nothing though, although I do believe it was stated at one point, there were also plans for a 25,000ish seat expansion that were not released. I suspect it is simply adding the middle level you see in the 40,000 seat rendering without adding the upper levels or the new press box.

UNCC point aside(charlotte please but that’s another point). i don’t mind playing app sometimes but i get worried when i hear fans(not necessarily you) stating that they would like app to be a rival. Some of you really need to find out what people think of app nationally. most people don’t know where they are, how to pronounce their name, or even that they are division one.
