Verbals to Clemson.

i know itās the acc and that means a lot to people down here but what has clemson down, specifically brownell, that makes you think that they will be anything special? they have brought in a lot of talent that is not necessarily acc caliber. i donāt want to bad mouth the kid but i think he is making a mistake. clemson lacks some talent, although i think he will play more early there than he would here.

Maybe he simply doesnāt want to have to wait a year or two for major minutes.
Bright spot, we lost out early and have time to focus on others well before signing day gets here.

Itās tough once the ACC starts pushing for local players, even a program as poor as Clemsonās. Too many fail to realize what will happen to a program like Clemson in the ACC, particularly once the additional basketball royalty moves in. I guess you get the bright lights for conference play at least, even if you miss out on the tournament most years.
The Niners need some success to beat out these lower programs from more prominent conferences, but we need to get good recruits in to have that success. A real catch-22.
Never heard of him. Quite frankly, the name sounds made-up
Seems our staff is having trouble getting anyone to commit to Charlotte. What has happened?
That might be true but DeVoe isnāt the example you want to be using in my opinion. DeVoe committed to Clemson without taking a single official visit. Iām sure the folks at Butler, VT and Xavier were a little flummoxed by that themselves.

In this part of the country the ACC is king to every HS kid. Devoe is a heck of a player and I have said that numerous times. Reality is that when the ACC schools get involved with kids from NC, it is hard for us to keep them. That is just how it is. I know that bothers some of us, me included but there is nothing we can do about that. CUSA will not help our basketball recruiting. Transfers and JUCOs are the routes we may need in order to fill out the roster each year. Devoe apparently just canāt resist the lure of the ACC. That shouldnāt be a shock to any of us. Iām sure he has grown up a fan of a school in the ACC and that has been his dream to play in that league. Our best bet is to cast a wide net, which it appears we are doing in 2014 and hope some of them stick.
