Gaby Ngoundjo - 2007 - F

New target for 07. 6-7, 235, long arms, rebounds and blocks shots. Ngoundjo played for the Arkansas Hawks with Michael Sanchez over the summer. Keep an eye on these AAU programs. Several recent targets have come from SC Ravens (Harmon); Georgia Hurricanes (Neysmith, Graham), Arkansas Hawks (Ngoundjo, Sanchez).
Gaby Ngoundjo, 2007 – Big guys come at a premium this time of year and this 6-foot-7 power forward could quietly become a high-major guy. The Little Rock Christian post owns the biggest set of hands around and uses them to vice grip rebounds and block shots. If the ball is coming off the rim, he’s usually right there to meet it. Ngoundjo collected 12 rebounds and scored 21 points in his Arkansas Hawks loss to the Jacksonville Lee Bulls.
With a name like “Gaby”, you gotta love the guy.

I really hope this guy has thick skin and can take some serious heckling…

Somehow I don’t think Gaby isn’t the name on his birth certificate. If we want him, his team’s AAU coach owes us since he steered Neysmith to Capel

Lefty, who is this Graham?

We didn’t even know him. Neysmith’s dad coaches the Atlanta Hurricanes, btw.

113 ranked SF that looked like a package deal to get Neysmith. I am still surprised that we lost Neysmith. You do not schedule a return visit then commit like he did the day before.

Enquiring minds want to know.

In our long list of near misses this one goes close to the top right behind losing the JUCO kid to Cincy because Cincy player was arrested for some kind of crazy s**t and kicked off late in the spring.

Near miss because AAU coach stated:

“My wife used to babysit him (Coach Capel) when he was only 2 years old. I’m gonna send him all my star players.”

CLASSIC!!

Sorry back on topic.

PRODUCTION WANTED for 2007!!!

Also may want to add “LOOKING FOR DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!! Desperately in need of PG’s of the future to develop”.

Looks like this kid is supposed to be coming in for a visit this weekend. Let’s hope he actually makes it to campus without committing somewhere else first.

I wonder if it’s official or unofficial.

Edit: He’s definitely here. Spotted by CMack who pointed him out to me at the volleyball match.

Gaby is the NEWEST NINER!!! The big man committed this weekend.

Power forward
Ngoundgo had his pick of colleges as Rhode Island, Illinois State, Missouri State and East Carolina offered him scholarships. He averaged 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks as a junior. He’s been in America three seasons.
He had a great summer and Texas Tech made a late run. Similar to Eric Hicks, long arms, huge hands, battles underneath and blocks shots. Has a great attitude.

WOW. Sounds like with him and big Phil we’ve got some FRESHMAN big guys who don’t mind doing the dirty work (love the battles underneath and great attitude parts esp!!). Lefty, who was Gaby’s main recruiter?

Gaby, welcome to Niner Nation!!!

Terrific news!! Welcome to the team Gaby, we’re proud you’re a Niner.

Kudos to Lutz and staff for hitting the recruiting trail hard.:49ers:

Awesome! Certainly doing a great job recruting! Welcome Gaby!

If he plays as big as Hicks did for Cincy, I’ll be especially happy to land him.

Welcome to the Niner Nation Gaby!

See, these are the great things that can happen if the kids actually give us a chance and make the visit to campus.

It’s GREAT TO HAVE YOU GABY!:49ers:

Is Big Gab the #113 overall player in c/o 2007 or #113 ranked SF in 2007?
