Gaby Ngoundjo - 2007 - F

He was offered by Purdue. Stars and recruiting rankings are only indicators and should be taken for what they are -- predictions. Most rating services rarely see a kid play, and rarely more than once or twice. Just impossible to see everyone. The NBA is chock full of no star, 200+ rated players (Okafor, Jameer Nelson, etc) that were on nobody's radar. Lutz and company think he can play and think he is a key ingredient in our future.

And more recently Adam Morrison

If we signed him in the Spring as an unranked player, I would be worried (Tyler Best), but going after him early and seeing other schools also showing interest is a pretty good indication that our coaches think he will be a good player.

PS. Who needs football when you have volleyball? The school in that video took him out to a football game, we took him to the volleyball game, who got the commitment? Girls in tight jerseys > large sweaty men in spandex.
And more recently Adam Morrison
Morrison was the 26th ranked Small Forward in the class of 2003. The list of players ranked ahead of him is hysterical, except #34 should have been rank WAY ahead of him.

I don’t know what the hell sport your talking about, but keep your sick, perverted hobbies off this board…

Provider, thanks! If Lutz wants him in a Niner uni, that’s good enough for me.

Analysis from Justin Young at Rivals (premium message board). He likes him, raw talent with good upside. Purdue was interested but landed their top in-state targets. More…

Evidentally Gaby is so good that he counts as two players? Looking at our commitments on Rivals… Sweet! (http://charlotte.rivals.com/)

"A native of Cameroon, Ngoundjo had never played basketball on a hardwood floor before arriving at the Little Rock school in 2004."
Awesome! Obvious mixture of hard work & pure talent!

There is no telling how good he can be in 4 years if he went from never playing basketball to a D1 scholarship in 2 years.

Cmack he played basketball over in Cameroon, just not on a hardwood floor. Its a kind of misleading quote.

Well, it is sort of misleading, but I could probably just learn to read better and I wouldn’t have been mislead at all.

From the scout Article this might be the worst pic of lutz i have ever seen.

Interesting take on his committment to us by Hoop Scoop…

09/10/06 - “We also find it interesting that Charlotte has landed 6’7 Gaby Ngoundjo from Little Rock (Christian) AR. Not only does this native of Cameroon have a 7’3 wing span and is an excellent rebounder, but he should provide the toughness and upside that the 49ers are looking for to complement 6’7 An’Juan Wilderness from Lenoir (Patterson School) NC and 6’6 Kenyan Harmon from Lenoir (The Patterson School) NC in this year’s recruiting class. Or to look at it another way, UNCC is loading up with athletic forwards who can do a variety of different things. And, if they really hit the jackpot and land 6’9 Tracy Smith from Durham (Mt. Zion Christian) NC, then their recruiting class, which now is tied at #26, along with Miami-FL and Virginia Tech, on our list of the Top Recruiting Classes To-Date for the Class of 2007, would not only be the best in the league, but it also would move up to #11 on our list of the Top Recruiting Classes To-Date for the Class of 2007.”

as far as rivals is concenred smith is done with us, as far as i’m concerned, i’m done with rivals.

I guess my statement needs to be proved. http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=12328 If my eyes aren’t fooling me it says NR= Not Ranked.

So thats what he looks like without the stache, HUH.

How would we handicap our chances of landing Smith?

There is no way Smith isnt headed to LSU

From the scout Article this might be the worst pic of lutz i have ever seen.

I am now completely convinced that Lutz and Floyd Landis are the same person…

Clark Francis/hoopscoop really likes us. Good stuff.

His profile has now been updated on Rivals. He is a 3 star prospect

3 stars is pretty darn good. I was think he was gunna be a 1 or maybe 2 star player
