Awesome! I’ve seen our guys a bunch at Skybrook this summer.
You know, if you post these in their entirety on the board, no one clicks on Utter’s blog. Then Utter’s blog looks less popular than it really is. Then people think no one cares about the Niners, or Utter’s blog. Then no advertisers buy spots on his blog, and none of them send traffic to Utter’s blog so that people who ordinarily wouldn’t read about the Niners find out about them. Then you get no new fans, only the same old, crotchety ones.
Please don’t cut and paste Utter’s blogs on the board.
Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

…and guys, when the “Charlotte” Observer merges with a South Carolina paper, we may not even get a blog! Think about that. How great it will truly be to have a regional paper then.

off topic to the thread, but on topic to your comment, I really see even less identity and, in turn, value to the Charlotte Observer even publishing a sports page.
I was in a meeting this morning with a S. Carolina fan complaining about today’s sports page. More pro-Wolfpack stuff in his words…then when he showed it to me, I understood why. In his opinion, he expected a more neutral presentation of tonight’s game. Can’t say I blame him.
IMO, I see nothing to be gained (other than filling space) by having an N&O columnist talking about the Wolfpack. Felt like I was reading a Raleigh paper. If I want the Raleigh paper, I will subscribe or just read THEIR website.
For the 1,304,569th time, placing “Raleigh sports stories” (or other non-Charlotte) sports stories in the Charlotte sports page discourages me from subscribing to your paper. If I don’t subscribe, I don’t see who advertises in your product and don’t support your advertisers. Although I am about ready to take the same approach with the O, as with WFNZ. I listen to WFNZ approximately once a month, just to hear who advertises with them. That way, I know which businesses to avoid in the Charlotte area. For example, you will never find me at Keffer Hyundai, Bubbas BBQ or drinking Sun Drop because of their support of WFNZ.
For the record, the person I was speaking with is a subscriber. I then asked him if he saw that the 49ers basketball schedule was released this week. He said “NO”, just some big story on the ACC hoops schedule. This made no sense to him either. I had to take him to the 49ers website to prove the schedule was released. The following were HIS WORDS…
I don’t give a damn about Charlotte 49ers basketball, but even I can tell the school gets royally screwed by the Charlotte Observer.
Look who’s back from China.
Congrats once again to the golf team. I’m off to go click on Jim’s blog a few more times.
Great news for the golfers. I agree this should have been a printed article. It would have been a major story it it had been certain “other” NC schools. Most people in Charlotte have no idea we have the best golf program in the state. It’s no wonder we receive no local respect.
It only counts unique visitors, so unless you have a constantly changing IP address or wander around your office using everyone’s computer, it does no good to click over and over.
And since there are only about 135 views on this thread it probably doesn’t matter that the text is posted here anyway.
Savio, I hear you on USC-NCSU thing.
When I get over my jet lag, I’ll have someone fired or something.
Savio, I hear you on USC-NCSU thing.
I’m confused. Savio didn’t say anything on this topic. Am I missing something? Doesn’t Savio work with you?

He just meant Silvio.
Told you I was jet-lagged …
I was so stunned he acknowledged that people in Charlotte care about schools in the region I got confused. Who knew my customers wanted SEC and ACC information?

You seriously will not drink Sun Drop or eat at a specific BBQ place b/c one of the many places they advertise is a station you do not like? WOW… just WOW.

Mens Club & The Uptown - yeah, that hurts. But, sometimes ya just gotta take a stand.
Would you seriously eat at Shoneys? If so, you won’t have to worry about us running into each other. I’d rather go hungry.
The local banks – Why do I have to deal with a local bank?
Verizon is not the only mobile phone provider.
You act like The Lingerie Shoppe is the only place to purchase their product.
and finally, why do I want to deal with a local Charlotte area car dealer? -----have had much better luck buying cars in smaller cities. In other words, dealers who don’t have to pad their prices to cover the cost of newspaper advertising.
Mike, if you’re gonna cop an attitude the first day back I have one thing for you:
The shareholders don’t seem too impressed with your list.

That would be precisely why I “copped an attitude” about copy and paste of our content rather than providing a link.
Great way to win customers over.
