Sheedy eagled #2 to get to -2. Murphy tripled 2 but seems to have righted the ship. Hedin is -1. Lot of holes to go.
Ok, now I just went back and it shows a par on 2 for Sheedy. He’s even after 2.
Ouch. We are now 3 over and 14th out of the 15 teams that teed off this morning.
Washington is in first 13 strokes ahead of us at 10 under.
Still a long way to go today.
It truly is amazing how a different member of this team steps it up each tournament.

I’m pretty sure it is 3 rounds, but you have to be in the top 10 or top 15 after the second day to qualify for the final round.

I believe that all teams play the first three days. Then for the last round it is cut down to the top 15 teams.
Hard to read anything into the scores until after the second day. Teams swap starting times so morning goes to afternoon and vice versa for the first two days. After two days you can see an “equal” playing field (course) based upon conditions, etc.

Good point. We are tied for 5th our of the 15 teams that teed off this morning. The other 15 tee off this afternoon (Pacific time).
Sheedy is in third overall at -4. 4 birdies, the rest pars. Impressive stuff!
we finished at even for the day and are currently tied for 13th with duke an a couple of other schools. state finished at 4 under. wake is leading at 11 under. and the tarholes are currently 4 over.
Soccer Coach is right. The top 15 teams after the first 3 rounds advance to the final round on Saturday.
Small article in the Observer this morning listed the local teams standings after the first round, including us at 13, Duke at 14 and stopping there…hmmm. I believe UNC and GT are somewhere in the 27-30th range.
I don’t mind that they were left off. Think of it the other way. Had the standings of the 4 teams you mentioned had been reversed, how many of us would have been pissed to be left off? At this point most people don’t know/remember the tarholes are even in the tourney. If the tarholes stay where they are and never get mentioned in this tourney, it works for me. As for us. 13th is good. However we have some real strong teams behind us (like Georgia) that are going to make their run. We have to improve each day.
