Hey, 49er Band Members

Originally posted by CharlotteAlum@Sep 2 2004, 10:14 AM Well actually I was paying attention and what I see is small group of students spread out across too many rows of seats doing their homework, chatting, etc. Organizing distractions? Please, a COUPLE of the band members actually get to their feet at a time other than when they are about to perform and wave their instruments. How is this a distraction? Oh fine, you go to mens and womens games, you earn those seats. Well I go to every men's game (I don't go to others because we live about an hour away) - what does that earn me? Nothing - I still have to pay to sit in the upper area, Alumni seats. If I want to *EARN* better seats I have to shell out thousands of dollars. All I want is a little school pride and a little more enthusiasm.
Again, if you don't like the band that's your prerogative. I've said my piece and nothing is going to convince you otherwise. But for every person who doesn't appreciate what the band does, there are 10 who do.

Or Dyermaker… that has some cool drum stuff in it too.

Hey pi, you didn’t like the video for “you can call me al”? Not even the part where chevy chase mistakes the drum stand for a table and tries to sit his drink on it? It doesn’t get much funnier than that.

If we’re gonna do Al, I wish we had the horns to do it justice. Oh well.

Hey Sideshow! Don’t ever rein in that mane, dude. It’s a force of nature that should not be interfered with by anyone, let alone the MUSIC dept.

Ha, too late. I cut it about a week ago. My girlfriend got to me, plus I have debates and forums coming up for my campaign and I figured I should look more like a politician and less like a drummer.

But I’m growing it back, not to be cut again til after I graduate in May.

Damn, I was out of town for a few days and look what I missed. :smirk:

Well, I certainly can't argue with that. It's hard to find a lot of people who love basketball AND want to play in the band, but we need players. There is a solid core of about 15-20 people in the band who are hardcore Niners and support the team from tipoff to buzzer. As for the others, we're certainly working on them.
If everyone in the band care as much as Alex, our band would be scary.

Aww, I’m flattered.

Have we really spent 5 pages discussing the band??? For the love of god give us a football team so we can end this madness and talk about something really important, like why our f*cking coach is still running the wishbone.

Anyone who doesn’t like the AL video has some serious issues, it is top 10 all time easy.

Think I’m going the start a thread about something really important like “Why isn’t there a Showmars in the Halton food court???”

Oh yeah I forgot…TF RULES!!!

Hey, the wishbone is highly underrated!

I agree, but we just don't have the athletes to run it. I don't understand why we sign dropback passers and ask them to run the wishbone.....It's ridiculous!!!! I wish we would hire Spurrier!!!!

Interesting fact you probably don’t know: Spurrier had a niece that went to Charlotte. I had a math class with her, she was pretty cute.

Drummers are cooler than politicians.

I think the first order of business should be a fitness program for the Golddusters

They have beefed up the last few years, and they need to get rid of those same black outfits and hair buns. :frowning:

there is so much talent on that campus and thats the best we can do?

and “call me Al” sucks and everyone is sick it.
