I do think schools set in urban locations are set to weather the demographic shifts better. With costs going up and kids looking at college more of an investment vs an experience.

True that.
I know several people whose kids are taking the community college path and also are not desperate to get to traditional college right out of the gate.
people are wising up to the costs.
I have no idea how any non elite private school is going to survive.
maybe some survive because they are the only places that some students can get into.
The private school cost structure is insane though.
My kid went to GW for two years of grad school and OMG was it expensive. His two years up there in DC were more than his four years in Boone.
