DAVID S. MACK SPORTS AND EXHIBITION COMPLEX
On January 2, 2000 the Hofstra Basketball programs moved into the new 5,046-seat then-Hofstra Arena. Construction of the $15 million, 93,000 square-foot facility began in the fall of 1998 and was completed in December 1999. In 2006 the Arena was renamed the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. The Complex houses the Hofstra Basketball teams and the Wrestling team. The Arena also hosts commencements, exhibitions, trade shows, concerts and other special events.
The Mack Sports Complex includes full chair back seating for spectators in an arena configuration. The air-conditioned facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a training room, a large weight room, dressing rooms for stage events, four concession stands, five ticket windows, six luxury boxes and offices for Hofstra’s athletic administration and Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs.
The Pride also has not lost a home game to a non-conference opponent since the 2003-04 season...
Hence why all the overconfidence in this thread bothers me a bit. Yes, we should win when you are comparing talent on paper. But not dropping an OOC game in that many years is pretty impressive and says a lot about their homecourt advantage, regardless of how many people are in attendance. Personally, I’m worried. We’re coming off a big win and 3-game high, while playing our first true road game. I like our chances but this could be a letdown game if we are not clicking on all cylinders.
They are 1-4, having lost on the road to an apparently solid Holy Cross team, under-performing Fordham, and at home in OT to UNCW.
Hofstra made a 3-pt shot with :00:1 to force the overtime. Agudio had 34 points in the 87-83 loss.
I’ll say Niners by a dozen - 74-62. Gerrity dishes out 7 assists and Leemire scores 24 points on six threes.
I concur, I think we might could even open it up to 20
Francis Ford Copola
James Caan
"Frenchie" of the infamous Lufthansa heist, a real life event that was portrayed in the 1990 film, "Goodfellas."
Carol Alt, supermodel
Madeline Kahn
Christopher Walken
Alan Colmes, half of America’s worst news duo, "Hannity and Colmes"
Nelson DeMille
George Vecsey, sports writer
Speedy Claxton
Loren Stokes
Wayne “Stay Away from the Babysitter” Chrebet
Marques Colston
Lance Shulters

Or as Al Franken called them, "Hannity and Colmes.
Agudio can play big time. I watched a couple games of their’s this year and he is their go to guy. I wouldn’t be surprised if he drops 24-30 on us. However after him there isn’t much, although their young guards look like they can play some. Their interior play is suspect and we should try to take advantage of that.
I’m looking forward to seeing them play for the first time this year.
this is going to be a tough game…apparently Hofstra hasn’t lost a game at home in 3 years or something like that? and they have the nation’s leading scorer at the moment. (he should enjoy it while it lasts, b/c im sure wilderness has something to say about that). I still like the Niners in a close one though.
That “not having lost a game to a non-conference opponent in since 03-04” stat might be a bit misleading. How many non-conference opponents play them there every season?
I mean looking back on their seasons I’ve only counted the following games:
2003-2004:
L - Stony Brook
W - St. Peter’s
2004-2005:
W - La Salle
W - St. John’s
W - Columbia
2005-2006:
W - Florida International
W - Binghampton
W - Stony Brook
W - Siena
W - Nebraska
2006-2007:
W - Georgia State
W - St. Francis
W - St. John’s
W - Holy Cross
2007-2008:
W - Manhattan
I mean that’s only 14 games in 4 seasons plus the one they’ve played this year and look at the competition. Don’t get me wrong I’m not going into this game overconfident but I don’t think that should be the the stat that makes us somewhat afraid of this game.

I doubt I’d call this game tough, we beat them last year when they had Loren Stokes (one of the best players to ever wear the Pride uni). We didn’t have nothing last year compared to what we have this year. Fordham beat them, nuff said.

With our history, these type of games scare me more than playing top 10 teams. These are the type of games when we usually have a let down. We need to come out this game (and every game for that matter) like we’re playing a team that’s favored over us. We were picked to finish 11th in the A10. So far this year we’ve played with a chip on our shoulder. Let’s continue that and kick Hofstra’s ass. GO NINERS!!

Georgia State was a conference game, they both are in the CAA.

Hofstra is currently 1-1 at home this season in two overtime games before tomorrow’s game with (#319) Stony Brook.
