My guess is something like "Duke, Carolina, and Wake stay in the top 10. And look who sneaks in! UNCC! Wow, they came out of nowhere, didn’t they?!?
I’ll take a flier on this one:
The Observer will have a story on the top half of page 1. Size to be dictated by the rest of today’s sports events.
The TV stations will only note the rankings for the ACC schools.
TV caters to the sheep (ie the mindless flock that is ACC fans) more than any other media source. I wouldn’t expect anything from them unless we make top 15.
Something will be mentioned…but honestly…do you expect anything more from the likes of Bruce Snyder and Howard Johnson???

WCNC and WBTV both mentioned us last week as #27. I imagine they will give appropriate coverage. The radio stations however will probably do the “UNCC sneaks in at 23” thing.
Ira Cronin did a story on Justin Gray last night on Sports Extra w/ a nice Curtis Withers tie-in, featuring an interview before practice sometime last week.
Howard Johnson!?! Isn’t he older than dirt by now!?
I think we will get some Pub this week.
Win both games this week and the Media Bandwagon will get rolling.
One opf the stations (NBC) had good coverage after the Houston game I thought. Yeah their Duke/Carolina coverage was more but afterall as much as I hate those teams they are a long standing rivalry and in the top 10 so I thought that it was balanced given how important each game was. They showed the basden teabagging too.
On a National level, both CNNsi.com and CBSsportsline.com both released their new AP rankings with the title: “Charlotte in AP Poll for the first time in 6 years”
I’ll take the National exposure over local exposure anyday. So much for sneaking up on anybody the rest of this year. Can’t wait to see how the team handles to role of hunted instead of the hunter.

NBC 6 just had a sports preview, and the only team they mentioned was Charlotte “Finally” gettin some respect, how ironic, lets just see how the full story turns out to be.
Harold Johnson giving props and showing “CW” highlights @ SLU. He’ also pimped Wednesday’s game. Now he’s losing my interest and talking about NC-Carrboro.
Way to go Big Guy.
NBC talked pretty much stricly niners and showed CW highlights from St. Louis as well, barely a mention of the ACC at all…thats how they should report sports around here.
if they do that, they’ll go out of business.
Greenville, SC TV station did not mention us. Complete focus on ACC teams in the poll.
Asheville, NC TV station did not mention us either. All he talked about was how strong Maryland looked.
Stupid idiots!
