Intro song etc for stadium

Although the initial use of “Sweet Caroline” at sporting events is associated with the 1997 Boston Red Sox, in actuality the Carolina Panthers were first in 1996.

Anyway, Diamond has laughed all the way to the bank ever since the song first raced up the charts in 1969 and then charted again in the UK in 2021 etc.

In all seriousness out of everyone in attendance what % will even know the words to Revival to sing along. Not hating on the song if good enough for Springsteen I am good with it but just thinking first couple of games might be rough. Under 35 crowd will have to be strong with it. I guess its for them anyways.

I have no clue about the words to that one. I do know Kick Start my Heart. But yeah… I am in not in the target audience here.

I don’t think this will go over well, but your Sweet Caroline reference was great, and here’s why:

Watch it through to the end. The link works despite the broken thumbnail above.

As long as you can remember it when you’re drunk / sun zapped / etc, it’s great. Cheesy doesn’t really matter.

Sy Flimbeck who ended up becoming Martin Crane as Frazier’s father. I still sing that song on occasion.

John guest starred in a very serious role in an episode of “Becker”. Did a terrific job, played a priest as a foil to a decidedly non religious John Becker. (Ted Danson)

I had never heard Revival before but a lot of people around me were into it.

It would be so easy for the team to just do Hell’s Bells using the natural bell as an intro.

“Revival” wasn’t ever put out as a single in spite of the original’s 3:42 min radio friendly length. And very doubtful the extended concert versions that have stretched out to 20 min are going to get airplay. But yes, definitely a fan favorite!

All i know is retire whatever garbage country pop song that was that led us into the 4th, fan based garbage

If you have to put the lyrics up for the song, it’s the wrong song.

I was going to post this during the 4th quarter but it felt too toxic.

Apropos.

i’m all for this as an anthem

This this this this…this is our song…this is our anthem

Thanks for the info.

I still would have never heard it cause I don’t listen to country unless I hear it in a setting I don’t control.

Not that I dislike country. I like some specific songs.

It’s just a genre I never think about or even consider seeking out.

It’s kind of like the wonder bread of music. Plain, always the same, with bland flavor. It all sounds the same and the musicianship is pretty low quality unless you get into some of the bluegrass stuff.

You’re welcome!

Actually not a big fan of country either though I do have quite eclectic tastes in music. Was just interested in knowing more about Zach Bryan since his song was selected for yesterday’s game.

I do like country-tinged music such as early Eagles, as well Band of Horses, Marshall Tucker Band, Allman Brothers, Neil Young, etc. And enjoy a good bit of Americana too.

Anyway, I’m more of a prog guy, a genre that would probably go over like a lead balloon with most attendees at JRS and Halton with maybe the exception of “Tom Sawyer” by Rush!

Genre really won’t matter when you find the right song. VT and Enter Sandman, UM and Mr Brightside, UF and Tom Petty, Penn St and zombie nation, Wisconsin and Jump Around. The point is it doesn’t have to be anyone’s fav song or genre but it does have to be something everyone knows.
