Its official. This has to be one of the worst recruiting efforts I have seen from a Charlotte team. We have zero signitures, and the only prospect I have seen on the Horizon is another JUCO. This is just sad…
Have a link to this article, haven’t seen it yet.
Honest, can you provide this link?
Looks like he can’t.
I did not even see 2k’s response to my post until this afternoon, and I have to work late most nights. (Side note what happended to the old front page? So much harder to keep up with happenings in this new format.)

I think some one else nailed it. Rivals had us all listed as Medium, then it changed Clevland St and Marshall to High and we were left on Medium. I figured they had some intel I did not.

Given the update my thought would be the Center Juco they have listed instead is who we landed, Roberto Asencio.

Not really thrilled about either development, but oh well.
Think about what his profile is missing. doesn’t have that he visited us or our offer listed.
True. However most of the time when they say a recruit has moved on from us they are usually correct. On the other hand rivals is certainly not 100% accurate. After all they have Clark listed at 6’7".

Side note, I talked to a guy that covers Nigerian players and he stated:

I"ve been very busy so I haven't heard anything yet, but I know he is high on Charlotte...

I don’t see the downside at all here if we sign him. After Braswell leaves we have a sophomore Thorne. I don’t mind using JUCOs to fill gaps. Sounds like he can contribute right away in some minutes. But the goal should be to sign a freshman center hopefully next year to have the continuous rebuilding/restocking of big guys.

After a 1 game exhibition, I do like the past 2 years of recruiting so ill put my faith in the coaches. We are loaded with underclassman that hopefully will be a great team when they are upperclassmen. That was the big issue with lutz I think. Too many JUCOs and transfers and not enough freshman year after year.

Now sounds like Dauda is going to go with Cleveland St. Our youth was used as a negative recruiting tactic here against us, meaning that Dauda wouldn’t receive as much PT as he’d like here.

Right now this will make more sense, if we land a 4 yr big like Atewe or Blakely. JUCO bigs can be snagged late if we miss on those guys.

Since Atewe is a zero star unranked prospect I would consider him a “hit” if w landed him. Looks like its Blakely or bust.

So, since Kansas St wants him (Atewe) and Memphis had offered, guess they don’t care about “stars.”

Don’t like our chances with Atewe if he is deciding this month and he has yet to visit our campus unless he has visited lately and there was no mention of it.

Is today the first of the fall signing period?

Did Kansas St actually offer? Memphis “had” offered? (Going to assume that’s a typo). I really don’t care who offers.

Lets review the evidence. Henry, Clark, Clayton were all three star prospects and where all ready to play from day 1. Braz was a 4 star and he is our best player. T-Will was a two star and it took him some time to get going. Ingram was a one star and has trouble protecting the ball, and has shown some questionable decision making. Ivan B. was an unranked prospect who is aggressively slow and rightfully can’t get off the bench.

We also have the fact that the best teams in country are chalked full of highly rated players.

Yet despite all the evidence to the contrary, we should instead take solace in an unranked player who Memphiss offered? I don’t think so.

Atewe was lined up for official to Memphis, then they landed Kuran Iverson, 6’8 combo forward, top 50 recruit.

Houston and Nebraska have also offered in the last week or so.

So basically Memphis landed a highly rated prospect and said “to heck with Atewe”? I think you just made my point.

Dauda signed with Cleveland St today.

You do realize that Ingram has only played two collegiate games, right? I think he looks ok for a frosh.

Evic was.higher rated than anyone mentioned. He’s not been great.

Ok I see your point, and yes it is early in the season. However consider this, Clayton and Clark are also Freshmen. So who looks better? Clayton and Clark (Three Stars) or Ingram (One Star) ?

Most freshman that come to Charlotte will not make an immediate impact, that’s just the way it is. If you expect many to avg dbl figures, you’re setting yourself up to be letdown.

That’s tough to say after two games, but Clark got into foul trouble and was almost non-existent last game. There is also a huge difference in what a pg has to do vs. a F. They pass the ball much more opening themselves up to more issues. They shoot further from the basket lowering their %. Really tough to tell after just 2 games, but I am surprised at how good Ingram looks running the team. At the end of 4 years you may be saying that he was the better player. It takes good coaching and good work ethic to improve. Seeing the rest of the team and how the look compared to last year makes me think that the coaching is there.
