It's Signing Day!!!

I wish there were a couple more Dlinemen and Linebackers signed.

What about Chris Duffy and Jamar Winston? I know someone said Winston is coming to Charlotte, is this still true?

do not be concerned. out players are better and sometimes loi’s come in later.
How do you figure?

Personally I put more stock into what other offers the kid holds than stars. Every recruit we have holds multiple FBS offers, some of whom hold BCS offers. Looking at your list I don’t see the same caliber or number of schools whom your recruits chose Charlotte over. Even judging purely on stars, the 'Neers have the clear advantage.

Just respectfully inquiring as to your logic here.

Happy signing day! :D
Good luck to you guys. Pulling together a great class from what I can see.
Im not too concerned. Y’all are technically FBS this year, we are still FCS. Arnt y’all also bowl elegible in 2015, and us not until 2016? App is a year ahead of us.

Any 2014 recruit looking for immediate playing time sees 4 years of FBS ball at App, but 3 years plus one year of FCS ball at Charlotte.

Any 2014 recruit expecting a redshirt year sees 4 years of bowl eligibility at App, 3 at Charlotte.

Recruits do look at this stuff, so perhaps a better ruler would be to compare Apps transitional signing class (2014) against Charlottes transitional signing class (2015).

Just keep the timing of both of these programs in perspective when comparing recruiting classes THIS year.

Best of luck to both schools, but obviously more to us! :stuck_out_tongue: See you in 2018!

Charlotte and App both had decent recruiting classes. According to the ratings and number of 3* commits, they have a slight edge, but that’s to be expected this year. We have only had one year under our belt, and for us to be able to recruit this well…this early is encouraging.

App is coming off a horrific season, and to still be able to bring in a class in that’s near the top of their conference should be encouraging for them as well.

That’s a good question? What did happen to Chris Duffy? Everything I hear from the Union Co folks is he’s a heck of an athlete.

He transferred to App. He said he wanted to go to a real football school with real black and yellow toilets.

Class size is about right. Gets us to 75. We have 6 seniors so that leaves 16 available next year. Always have a little attrition so next year 18-20 to get to 85. Signing bigger class this year would mean smaller class next year when you are trying to land the 4 year CUSA guys.

We signed 9 recruits from North Carolina and 5 from the ā€œCharlotte Area.ā€ Only NC State had more recruits from NC with 10.

Surprised that ECU and App signed so few from NC.

I am disappointed… where is our updated depth chart with the new signees? Get on that 49erFootballNow!

(Seriously, wouldn’t mind seeing it).

I’m disappointed we didn’t sign Lion King…

Yeah…we aren’t going to know the depth chart till late August.

We absolutely MUST recruit that way in order to ensure local interest. We do have a very fickle and very fair weather fanbase (see basketball). Once the newness of the program wears off, the only way to ensure local interest continues to build…is to have local talent playing on the field.

Then…if you use Rivals as the comparison. App only has one 3 star player to Charlotte’s 3. The ā€œStarsā€ system is screwy and each site has their own way to evaluate. Football recruiting is so confusing.

Let’s just line up and play already!!!

At this point we may not know position priority, but we can see how deep we are at each position…

So we can technically say we signed three times as many 3 star players as App.

Both ESPN and 247 would suggest App has more players with more stars. So I don’t think this is a conversation we would win in the long run. I tip my hat to them as their class does appear to be more highly rated than our class. However I am sure a few more seasons will correct the current state of affairs.

I hope we are able to keep him up through signing day to make it official. Our receiving corps could be NASTY in CUSA with Duke, Bostick, Jamel Ross, Kofa, Quattlebaum, Nesmith Jr…those are some dudes that can really make an impact. Exciting times ahead.
Juwan Foggie from High Point Central had a really good SR season, 6’2 195lbs WR that has verballed here too.

We’re also after Shaedon Meadors, 3 star WR from Byrnes (SC).
Good info. Thanks 2k!
Also picked up some 6’-4" 190 WR out of SC.
Oh he sucks…

NNN the place to go to learn all you want to know about App St recruiting…
