The thing about Demon was that he had the ability to go on some ridiculous hot streaks, Plavich was the same way. Lee was a good shooter, DA was a good shooter, Ian is a good shooter, but none of them would make a habit out of getting absurdly hot from behind the arc every few games (and yes, Demon & Plav would get absurdly cold at times as well…).
I get the Demon comparisons because he’ll be our first PG who can shoot since Demon, but I think Briscoe’s biggest contribution is going to be getting us back to an up-tempo game. Harris can do it, but he hasn’t had the guys around him (except Coley), we should have a lot of athleticism the next few years, and Briscoe pushing the ball upcourt with his ability to pull up for a 3, drive and finish or drive and kick is going to be huge for us. Plus, having two guards on the court at once who can both hits 3’s is going to do wonders for Spears/Jones/Braswell down low.

Which reminds me, how is Barnett’s 3 range jumper looking? He had good percentages last year, and can shoot over most defenders. Does he have a chance to play more?

Barnett is going to be the forgotten player on this team.

How tall is he now? If he can rebound and shoot the 3, he will get playing time. Although, him and Sirin might be the same player, so they will probably be battling for the same minutes.

Barnett seems like a good player that was just raw. We've had plenty of players that just stunk, I don't think he is one of them (e.g. Booker).
I really think he’ll be a solid contributor soon; at least by his senior year.

He needs to play more aggresive for his size. He’s basically only a 3 point line waiter. I’d like for him to develop a post-up fade MJ style-esk

I agree BUT hope he proves me wrong.

Yep, both will be battling for minutes off the bench. Can't wait to see how athletic Sirin may be.
Of course he didn’t say which,if any of those schools considered him.
i imagine that if he had interest in those schools this late in the process then they at least showed a lot of interest or offered a scholarship. i know nc state is short on point guards so i imagine that they offered.
I'm disapointed in Briscoe but not surprised. This trend is starting to be a cause for concern as we're starting to see the majors sign the best players from our schools. The talent gap will only get bigger if this continues.
best post. I guess we are no longer “mid-major”… to them anyways
