January 2026 College Football Transfer Portal

If thats directed at me it’s because I still support many things at the university and non revenue sports. Just not basketball or football.

I’ll make it easy though. NA delete my account please. Im done.

There’s no need to delete any accounts. The people who post here are all long term diehard fans.

We are all in various stages of coping with the mess that college sports have become and our place within that mess. Let’s help each other get through it. That includes @NinerWupAss and @hootie and anyone else feeling frustrated.

I’ll take the surface level contradictory stance that while I may bitch and moan, I’m hopeful even optimistic that this gets fixed and we get back to something that makes some kind of sense for 90+% of all programs. That’s what keeps me around.

The bitching and moaning is important and needed. I appreciate the bitching when I’m frustrated at the Niners and college sports in general. It lets me know I’m not alone. The “future optimism” post are just as important. If you ask me which I am I would have to say I go back and forth. I’m watching this play out just like all of us and this board is helpful.

I am one of the long - timers that has checked out. I still get season tickets to football and basketball, and follow the games but with much less interest. I have done my share of bitching and I think it is important to know how true fans and Alumni feel.

A friend, and 20+ year fan and supporter, gave up their seats and donations this past year due to the portal and NIL. I think it is important to hear how these people feel. I am barely hanging on and hoping for something drastic to change to keep me engaged. I dont’t have much hope but for the optimistic ones please keep up the fight. We need it.

I too am frustrated with the current system. But, I believe that some big changes are going to happen around 2030. Until then I am just worried about our conference play. Hopefully, we do better than we have.

When the split happens I hope that all the schools do things to protect our programs from this so called premier league. Like contracts on the players, so we get reimbursed for a player moving to the so called premier league.

One last thing. I hope nobody leaves this board. I appreciate all the different opinions. I have learned so much from all of you. Please don’t let your frustrations from the current NIL/Portal mess stop you from giving your opinions on this board or stop you from supporting our Niners. This mess will end.

That is ridiculous.

Anything dealing with money / economics in US today is, how long at this level can this go on…..

At these levels the Big Boy breakaway will have to be smaller unless they go revenue sharing. Some mid level P4 teams are hating the TTU Billionare takeover.

That move makes no sense. This years Wake QB1 will be gone and it appears its Purdie’s job to lose.
