JMU Postgame

We won. Looked terrible the first half and a little less terrible the second half.

Halton crowd was terrible.

Why didn’t Hudson play?

Braxton needs to be given the red light. Take a few shots to open the game but if he isn’t hitting, he shouldn’t have the green light for the time being. 3-13 fg and 1-10 3pt. At some point you have to reel him in. He is (9-41 fg) and (4-19 3pt) in the last 3 games.

Jon Davis needs to be taking more than 28% of our shots. When others aren’t making shots he needs to be more aggressive. Maybe a few of Braxton’s shots.

4-2 and on to the next one.

Coach said Hudson didn’t play because he tweaked his hamstring. Held him out as precautionary measure.

Washington has a possible concussion. He did not play most of the second half.

The average fan doesn’t know how good JMU is.

I’m curious what the team issue coach mentioned in post game is that had Garvin in the starting lineup instead of Vanhook.

Considering there were thunderstorms and a tornado watch tonight I’m not surprised attendance was low. Outside of the students how many of our fans live close to campus? If you live in south Charlotte I bet it would be a challenge to make a 7pm tipoff with traffic not to mention the construction going on.

The students section is the most concerning. Why can’t the AD get students on campus to Halton for “free” games? They hitting the books hard huh.

Ugly W, but a W. I’ll take it and move on, while hoping we get better with each game forward. Bo was horrid and should have stopped shooting 3s much sooner.

BTW: Our lack of student attendance is an embarrassment.

5-2 / 4-2 whatever you want to call it is better than our record at this point last year. Braxton was off again but I’m sure he’ll improve like he did last year. Jon D is good. Officiating was awful. Crowd wasn’t good, but I assume a lot of that had to due with the tornado warning. Let’s go beat OSU.

Its nice having a winning record and our student section doesnt even stand up I see UNC, Indiana, UVA, and other schools where the whole student body at the game stands the entire time while ours just sits down thats pathetic

The last home game I went to when I was a student was the game vs Miami before Thanksgiving break the student section stood the entire game (I was in the lower bowl)

But our early schedule last year was a lot tougher. I’m not sure how much better this team is than last year’s team yet, even if comparing to the one before Uchebo started playing big minutes.

Defense was better, offense had no flow at times. Still a big man away from being able to take the leap.

It didn’t show up in the stat line but when Jackson replaced BO in the lineup in the second half the game turned. Jackson’s quickness and hustle changed the whole dynamic of the game.

Kudos for Garvin for playing big minutes and holding up well.

Davis is still the man. He may be our best point guard since Sean Colson.

JMU was 0-6, 312 RPI, and we struggled.

App is 2-4, 216 RPI, and we struggled.

ECU is 6-2 but with a schedule more lame than ours, and a 212 RPI, and we struggled.

Newberry is Div II and we struggled.

We struggled with Elon too, but at least their RPI is 78.

These are our wins! We lost to USC frickin’ Upstate. I hate to see what happens to us when we play Maryland and Florida.

There was a time we could strive to be compared to those schools. We aren’t even in the same solar system now.

If we can go 2-2 over our next four I’ll be happy.

clt says the fight was something.
