blurbs from Telep:

Kareem Canty, PG, LI Lightning: Easily could have shared the MVP honors with Gordon. Canty’s going to turn himself into a mid-major priority (at least) if he can replicate this effort. On a day when teams looked gassed, this kid never had to dip into his reserve energy tanks. He pushed the tempo, took and made good shots and set the tone. He got a lot done inside the arc with his jumper and never settled. Finding guys who play with this energy and toughness is no easy task. He needs to be seen in July.
Kareem Canty, SG, LI Lightning: Given their name, Florida Assault is naturally expected to come out swinging with the big guns. In a late night playoff game, courtesy Canty and Co., it was the Lightning who scored a 30-plus point knockout. Canty’s jumper clicked early, the Lightning swarmed Assault’s guards and left no doubt. The Lightning have a team of potential mid-level players who were on the same page and were a handful Saturday night in the Dean Dome.

this kid sounds good plus he is not so highly ranked that he would scare off tyler lewis ala a marquis rankin at virginia tech situation.

Sounds a lot like Harris.

I would never bet against a kid with this type of mentality if quotes above are true.

plus he’s 6’0". can you imagine if harris was 6’0"?

so we are after canty, seagers and wilson at point guard for 2011. that’s not a bad list. i think based on what i have read i like seagers best then canty then wilson.

I have only seen us listed once fro Seagers and Wilson, so I’m not sure we’re really in the mix there.

we have offered both so i assume we are recruiting them in some capacity.

Certainly, but you can offer and be out of the running.

RT @NYPost_Brazille: Bishop Loughlin's Kareem Canty plans to leave the Brooklyn school for a prep school, he told The Post.

I’d rather imagine him with a Jumper and a reliable off hand.

RT @PlatoBrown: Kareem Canty '11 picks up an offer from Hofstra University

Sure. Close but no Seager.

Here, allow me to be the first retarded Niner to say it: Hofstra??? …Are they even Division one? duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh He must be a shitty player if he chose that POS school over us. Good thing he didn’t wind-up here! ::slight_smile:

Canty is still available, has not decided where he’s going yet.

First of all. He didn’t choose Hoftsra. Second of all, where the hell are you getting that from?? When has anyone on here said anything like that? I would think our fanbase of all fanbases would be one of the most knowledgeable of Hofstra since we’ve played them so many times. We aren’t Walmart ACC fans dude. We may have one or two idiot fans who don’t know who Hofsta is, but if they don’t, they aren’t real Niners fans because they haven’t been paying attention to the last few years.

Whoopsie doodle. Thought he committed. Stupid mistake. I hate making stupid mistakes.*

But, Chi, when you say, “When has anyone on here said anything like that?” (Here in this thread? No. Here at NNN? OMG, Hell Yes.)

…Well, that’s just fucked-up. Slanted Niner fools, exercising a psycho-centric hind site bias, regularly and predictably say s*** like “He’s not even on the D1 level” here all the time. (When, in fact, the player plays D1 basketball, in every case.) You’ve got to know what I’m talking about.

The most obvious cases in point are seen in threads where promising Niners have opted to transfer out, take Transferrity or Bowden. (I’m not saying anyone said those particular two aren’t D1 players.) I’m pointing out the tendency toward a ridiculous bias. (…Which is out of place… an unnecessary follow-up to a stupid mistake.*)

Small blurb about him in this New York Post piece:

Top five city players I saw in camp (in order): Maurice Harkless, Kadeem Jack, Kamari Murphy, Kareem Canty and Darrel Lucky.

Canty and Lucky both displayed their ability to play the point, finding the right mix between scoring and getting others involved.

George Mason?!!?
