Okay, maybe it was $500K. I might have been 1 zero off, but equally stupid of UVA.
Well except for the fact that they actually care about women’s basketball there and have had fan support for years and years. Maybe I am biased because of my close relationship with their program, but I think it was a great hire for the right price.
Coach Karen did a great job with the lady-Niners, but not trying to be mean, the UCONN ladies team was having trouble with support (in their eyes), why would ours not? and granted we have a ranked baseball team that 80% of people on campus have no clue. Either way she had a good run and possible time to move on? I wish her luck.
Any news on a replacement for the women’s coach?
One of you graphics nerds or artists make a big sign that says “Congratulations Niner Baseball on our Top 25 ranking” followed by our upcoming games.
Place it right in front of the Union. People will take note.
If I had any ounce of artistic ability and wasn’t in Mississippi I would do this. If the school won’t get the word out, then it’s up to us.
When Judy announced Karen’s resignation, she said she wanted a new coach in place by May 1. Considering how the AD doesn’t let ANYTHING about their coaching searches go public, I’m guessing we won’t know anything until we’ve made a hire.

If the new Coach is an outsider, it would be good to keep Ken & Sabrina as assts., promote Erin from student asst. to asst., & keep the guy in the bow-tie who is director of b-ball ops. No reason to mess up a 27-win team. Keep as much of the coaching core intact as possible.
