That makes at least three ADs who are/were UNC-CH grads.

Charlotte 49ers Hires Clemson Deputy Athletic Director Kevin White as New Athletic Director

Last updated 4 minutes ago

Sources report that Charlotte 49ers is set to hire Kevin White, currently Clemson’s deputy athletic director since 2022 and sport supervisor for football and basketball, as its next athletic director after a four-month search. White previously served as deputy AD and COO at Northwestern and COO at SMU, with a strong background in fundraising including Clemson’s IPTAY. The move ends speculation following the prior AD vacancy.

49erForever, link? Thanks!!!

Seems good to me. I thought the Isom hire also looked good, and maybe someone who can be a future AD.

Hopefully they come in and raise the bar.

I refuse to believe AD staff would sabotage their own careers for that. It’s a ridiculous conspiracy theory.

Agreed. More interested in his pedigree and his NIL / fundraising experience.

Not impressed but I wish him the best.

Out of curiosity, why? Good fundraising background.

This feels like Mike hill 2.0.

Let’s face it, being at Clemson, raising money is not going to be that difficult. So that doesn’t impress me. Plus you hire deputy ADs to manage the day to day stuff. We don’t need another deputy AD to lead the athletic department. They essentially baby sit coaches/athletes to make sure people are being fed and behaving. I want someone from the business community who speaks their language and knows how to close the deal on sponsorships and raising money.

Because money is how you get players and coaches and facility upgrades and on and on and on. Hope for the best, but this looks uninspiring on paper.

Mike Hill had no fundraising background, this guy has a really good one. Big difference.
