Donāt believe Walker asked any questions. Would think heāll talk about White tomorrow on his 12-3 shift on FNZ.
So Bonke had to give up his number to this guy ![]()
This is a big boy job. I know it will take time to learn the dynamics of the athletic department but results need to happen sooner rather than later otherwise what was the point of paying Mike Hill not to be here? The answer to the stadium expansion question was āI just walked into my office for the first timeā. Translation = I have no idea, never thought about stadium expansion. It is easy to speak in platitudes at a press conference, but in the upcoming months, I want to hear a very specific vision for the department described in detail.
Wouldnāt say Smith has never thought about stadium expansion etc since these things occurred at his previous stops.
While at Georgia State, school announced interest in purchasing Turner Field, with intention to reconfigure the stadium from baseball to football. Project realized and completed.
While at SMU, school announced $150M facilities upgrade to football stadium. Project completed.
While at Northwestern, school announced $480M gift as the primary funding for replacement of football stadium. Plan included erection of temporary stadium on campus during construction of new stadium on site of previous structure. Completion expected in time for Oct 2 2026 game vs Penn State.

White seems like a genuinely nice guy. He came across well in his news conference, too. But Charlotte 49ers fans are going to move beyond the honeymoon period quickly and want to know what White is going to do right now.

Before turning the microphone over to White, Wilson cited Whiteās 200-page plan for 49ers athletics, submitted as part of his bid for the AD job. āHe has the details for what he wants to do now,ā Wilson said.
I sure would like to read that.
I think I would be more excited about the experience he developed at northwestern and smu than what he did in Clemson given Charlotteās challenges. I know Clemson has had some challenges in the NIL landscape compared to other P5 programs but that could all be due to dabo not wanting to adapt. Should be interesting to see what White has in store.
Daboās issue has been his reluctance to employ the transfer portal. NIL funds are more than adequate in Death Valley.
The best thing we can take from his time at Clemson are the connections he has to donors in the Charlotte region that he can bring here. Our city loves some Tigers football
And soon theyāll love niners football too
clt thinks she meant AAC commish
I am looking forward to seeing it. Execution is the key.
No, it was the ACC Commissioner who also gave a quote about White in the press release.
