Keyshawn Woods - 2014 G - signed LOI to Charlotte

ESPN Blurb

Antonio Woods (Gastonia, N.C./Northside Christian) 2014, SF, 6-4, 180 AAU team: Team Charlotte Woods is a strong, physical and tough wing who competes on both ends of the floor. He made open 3s, finished at the rim and easily defended both wing positions. He has a good feel for the game and is productive on a consistent basis. Woods has offers from UNC-Charlotte and Virginia Tech, among others.

Tulsa now offers.

Northeastern offers.

RT @Justinbyerly 2014 SG Keyshawn Woods of Team Charlotte (NC) has a final 7 of Charlotte, UNC-G, Houston, Tulsa, College of Charleston, George Mason & UT-C

I’d take woods in a heartbeat

Woot!

Committed today to Charlotte

RT @ReggieRankin: Keyshawn Woods to Charlotte! Big Time wing pick up for head coach Alan Major. Good skill, rebs, motor, defends, plays in attack mode!

RT @DaveTelep: Woods to Charlotte means an energy giving, hard playing, play making wing. Kid is an all-motor first team contender! #heart

solid pick up.

Finally getting some traction on the BBall front. Nice pickup.

Welcome to the family, Keyshawn. We are very pleased to have you.

Love the descriptions of his “energy”. He should do well on the defensive end, and hopefully his jump shot opens up the midrange game they described. Glad he committed.

I’m a little surprised he didn’t have more offers, though the Wichita St. offer is interesting.

Glad to have him. Sounds like a versatile player. I’ve seen him listed as SG, PG, and SF.

Impressed with this signing! Finally, a Dinkins kid picked us. Heres to hoping for more as he has built a powerhouse over there.

Woods ‘sounds’ like a Charlotte guy. Actually, sounds somewhat like Terrence when he came out (midrange game, athletic etc), except maybe a bit more of a scorer. Love how they keep mentioning his energy and hustle. Big time get, and I love that Davidson wanted him.

Hopefully, last year was just an off year for us recruiting wise as recruits may not have been sure about Major’s remaining time here. All other years under this regime we had a good amount of early signings and I hope we see the same this time.

I like this not only because Dinkins is a Charlotte guy, but also because in every interaction I’ve had with him, Dink has been a real class act. I expect high character of Woods, because I know Dink is a high character guy. That’s a good feeling. I hope we have a Byron Dinkins bobblehead night one day.

This might be wildly unpopular, but I’m giving some love to Jeff McInnis as well. He might have been a Tarheel but he’s treated the Charlotte basketball scene well over the years by sponsoring summer leagues, AAU teams and now helping Dinkins out at NCA.

Really excited to pick up another scorer. I also love how much of a competitor he is. You have to hustle if you want to be a part of this team. And I love that that’s who we’ve become.
