Langston has more status in this community than most anyone on this board.
I don't know about you guys but I'm jealous.:violin:
So who is this “community” Mike? Other reporters? People who actually read your rag of a paper? Or is it the small minority of people who actually give a flying crap what your paper and editorial writers think of them? Those members of Charlotte “society” we get to read about in you paper?
Yeah, I can think of nothing more I’d want than to have status equal to Wertz’s with them.
Langston is a hack and always has been. He’s a tarhole apologist and with that comes his disregard for our program. He’s a sorry reporter who half asses his job on a routine basis.
Langston was covering a tournament in which the kid WASN'T PLAYING.
Yet amazingly he saw fit to mention him in his write up. Nice defense there Mike, good thing you’re not a lawyer.
I’m still trying to figure out Jena Janovy’s piece in this morning’s Observer in which she writes that C-USA preseason favorite Louisville is in 3rd place even though not one single conference game has been played! :o

I'm no Wertz fan but it's entirely possible he didn't have a clue that the kid has verballed to us. It's not like he follows our program or anything.
No but he follows every word that tends to come out of Telep's mouth so I just think it's a bit ironic that he wasn't aware of the situation. Maybe he wasn't, maybe he was. I still think Langston would go out of his way to slight us. Kind of like how David Poole intentionally refers to us as UNC Charlotte and then quickly goes "I'm sorry, I mean Charlotte 49ers." I hope no one thinks he's simply making a mistake after he's done that about 100 times since the name change.

Why, because he reviews video games for your paper? Guess he does win over the 14 and under crowd when he breaks down the latest Mario Brothers game. He’s a joke.
Ah, yes. We are back to being the Observer hating Niners that we truly are.
Mike, seriously, you need to stop being so defensive. Its not gonna do you any good here. We can hate your writers if we want to. Its our right. Poole and Wertz are obviously anti-Niners. Ask them yourself.
You’re probably right. I was just thinking that he’s probably such a tarhole butt kisser he’s conditioned himself to ignore any good news about our program.

For me this isn’t a beef with the observer. I’ve been very happy with our coverage. I just don’t like Wertz b/c he’s a baby blue jock sniffer and it’s obvious. If you’re going to be a reporter you should at least make the effort to hide it.

Most Niners think it would be nice to get more coverage in the Observer. You, for whatever reason, do not and decide to criticize those who do.
Calling Observer writers names isn't the way to go about getting more coverage. Because I don't join in personal remarks about the writer doesn't mean that i don't want more coverage of the 9ers, and for that matter we have had very good coverage this year.
