Third-year OLB Alex Highsmith was his teammate at the University of Charlotte from 2015-16. Ogunjobi, a senior when Highsmith was a redshirt freshman, had 13.5 tackles for loss that season, while Highsmith added two of his own in limited playing time.

Was listening to ESPN Radio this afternoon and they were doing a segment on the Steelers. As expected, most of the talk revolved around the QB situation. Still, as they were wrapping up, the acquisition of Ogunjobi was mentioned!

One organization has their shit together

Yo. Kevin Greene played 15 seasons during his hall of fame career. Only 3 of those seasons were with the Steelers. Yet! Greene chose to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a Pittsburgh Steeler. The sky is still the limit for Larry as a part of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers let one of the unrestricted free agents they targeted to re-sign get away. They made sure that didnā€™t happen with the other.

One day after cornerback Cam Sutton left to sign with the Detroit Lions, the Steelers didnā€™t let that happen with defensive end Larry Ogunjobi, agreeing on Tuesday to a three-year front-loaded contract worth $28.75 million, according to ESPN.

Ogunjobi, who will turn 29 in June, had 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his first season with the Steelers after playing four seasons with the Cleveland Browns and one with the Cincinnati Bengals. He signed a one-year, $8 million deal last summer after failing a physical with the Chicago Bears, who had agreed to sign him to a three-year, $40.5 million contract in free agency.

Ogunjobi missed most of training camp with the Steelers because of a Lisfranc injury and was limited in practice during the season, but ended up starting 16 games. He combined with defensive end Cam Heyward to help the team go from 32nd in the league in run defense in 2021 to ninth in 2022.
