Lost (May Contain Spoilers!!)
I was a little disappointed in how they showed the tail section slamming into the water, obviously at some obsurd speed, yet almost all of the people survive. I know it’s a TV show, but come on. Decelerating from 250mph or so to zero in less than a second will kill anything instantly. I just thought it was kinda hokey.
I think this is the point of the entire story of the island. Look at Jack, didn’t he wake up away from the other survivors in the first episode and most of the orginal cast gets away unscathed. Locke is able to walk all of a sudden. Jack sees his father walking around, and his dad’s casket is empty. There are all kinds of strange things going on in the island.

I’ll be watching Lost tonight.

Lost - the television show, not the lost basketball program.

I was able to finally watch this week’s episode of Lost. Good stuff. Ana Lucia has got some serious issues. cop-gone-killer. I wonder how Sahid/Ana will work out (or not)… maybe they help each other? Jack sees the Kate/Sawyer “connection” first hand. She’s got it bad. Speaking of Kate… the episode next week (based on the preview) seems to be Kate-centric. WOOT! Hot. It will be interesting to see the 2 groups comming together and whether or not they share all they know with the “other side”. knowledge is power.

According to TV Guide, there’s supposed to be some 4-way relationship deal with Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Ana. Not really sure of the dynamics but I don’t think Ana and Savid (silent “v” according to ABC) will be anything other than enemies.

Was a great episode this week. Should be interesting seeing the two groups interact. Pretty touching at the end when Bernard was reunited with Rose.

I’m getting kind of sick of the kum ba ya, slow motion-piano moments at the end of Lost. It happens way too frequently.

Ya, this season is much “lighter” than last.

JCL’s probably seen this on another site - being touted as THE base explanation for everything on the show.

I dont pretend to undertsand a word of it. I’ve only seen a couple of episodes.

Hate I read that. Hope it isn’t correct. Hard to believe there are people with enough time on their hands to come up with that stuff.

That is some crazy shit… It is amazing how much time some people have…

I agree with the poster in that thread named “jnickerson27”. That guy’s theory is way too complex for a television show. Lost is just as much about the characters as it is about the plot(s) if not more. I don’t know why (or how) the writers could have come up with such an intricate background and then attempt to make 30-something Joe Public understand it.

I agree as well, that idea is rather perplex. I would be rather disappointed if that was the answer. It wouldn’t surprise me either if some of the TV folks send out redherrings to throw people off, and maybe this is one of them. They appear to be rather smart when it comes to marketing. Check out what they are wanting to do.

WOW! Great episode last night! The best all season!

If you didnt see it, let me recap for you…

Jack was caring for Sawyer when Sawyer told him he loved Kate. Meanwhile, Kate was getting fruit and sees a black horse.

Flashback to Kates past where she is home when her drunk ‘stepdad’ comes in drunk and makes some sexual remarks to her. Kate leaves the house and it explodes. She set up a gas leak to kill her ‘stepdad.’ She tells her mom she would not have to worry about money and she is now better off.

Kate returns to Sawyer and tells him about seeing the black horse. Sawyer becomes concious and, in the voice of Kates ‘stepdad,’ says “Why did you kill me?”

Jack, Locke, Michael and Echo return to the cave to find the computer alarm going off. Kate is no where to be found. Locke pushes the code in the final seconds. Michael and Echo ask about the computer and Locke shows them the film.

Now back in Kates past - Kates mom turns her into the law. Kate goes to leave town after killing her ‘stepdad’ but gets caught at the airport. On Kates rainy night ride to jail the cop car is ran off the road and strikes a telephone pole. Kate escapes but standing on the side of the road, and what caused them to crash, was a black horse.

Michael and Echo watch the film and notice the gap near the end. Echo calls Locke to the side and tells him the story about how the old testament was found. Echo reveals a bible he found in the other cave and inside the bible is the missing piece of the film.

Jack chases after Kate and finds her in the woods. Kate thinks she is going crazy and Jack calms her down. They share a passionate kiss. Kate runs away. She is then at Shannons grave where she tells Sayid she is seeing ghost. Sayid tells her he saw Walt in the Jungle.

Flashback to Kates past where she is now on the run from the law. She then goes to visit her dad. It is then revealed that her dad wasnt really her actual father. Her father was her stepdad she killed in his house.

Locke and Echo watch the missing piece of the film. It warns to never attempt to use the computer to communicate with anyone. Doing so could cause another incident. Michael is not watching the film but is watching the computer. A message pops up on the computer saying ‘Hello?’ Michael replys ‘Hello?’ The computer then asks ‘Who is this?’ and he replys ‘This is Michael. Who is this?’ The computer then says

‘Dad?’

Last night’s eppy was one of the best if you ask me. First of all, lots of Kate. That’s always good. Second, we got a good dose of some serious mysteries: Kate and Jack’s bizarre kiss, Walt on the other end of the computer line, Sawyer projecting the “spirit” of Kate’s dad, the horse…

Awesome.

I figured Kate killed somebody, and sure enough it was her jackass of a dad. There is one theme that seems to run through most of the character’s lives… betrayal. Kate’s mother, Lock’s dad, Jack selling out his dad, Sun keeping her English from her husband, Sayid selling out his friend, Shannon’s step-mother giving her nothing, Michael’s wife, etc. etc. The people that the characters are attached to are some of the host despicable human beings. I don’t know where this theme will have significance, but it will at some point.

This is an example of how intricate this show is. Check out the TV screen in this screen cap. It’s Sayid, apparently getting arrested:

Nice work on Lost last night. Just finished it and that’s the kind of episode that drew me in. Minimal but relevant flashbacks, nice character chemistry, the plot moved, and EL was quite the babe.
I bet my wife while watching that we wouldn’t see the extra film for 2 more episodes. For once I was wrong.

Tintin

GREAT EPISODE!

The way it ended with Michael and his chat really got me. I definately didn’t see that one comming. Eko is the man. Whats up with the Jake/Kate kiss? (lucky lucky lucky bastard). Did the scene where Kate and her Dad were talking, did it seem to give the impression that she had done some other shady stuff?? It did for me. Maybe I’m wrong though. The horse is the first “image” that someone has actually touched? If so, and assuming what the viewer is seeing is what actually is, and not some visual fantasy… thats quite intriging. Who cut/spliced the film originally? Whats gonna happen when Ana joins the group (didn’t get much of her story). Not sure I get the whole “talking dead” thing… but I’ll trust the show. Good stuff. Can’t wait a month for the next one :frowning: At least we have basketball.

Whats gonna happen when Ana joins the group (didn't get much of her story).

As I mentioned before, TV Guide alluded to a 4-way relationship conflict with Jack, Ana, Kate and Sawyer. And the last episode pretty much got the ball rolling with Sawyer uttering “I lover her,” Jack/Kate kissing and Jack befriending Ana.

The horse is interesting and I’m not sure what to make of that. Probably some sort of symbolism but the fact that it’s not inanimate makes things a little more complex.

The previews for next week appear to be very good. Looks like Eko will be relying on his strong faith as he comes in direct contact with the “monster.” Locke did the same thing and survived so I expect Eko to do the same. Seems like there is something to the whole “acceptance” approach to the island.

Great epsiode. This is one smart show. Didn’t Jake touch his dad when he saw him on the island? I thought for sure Jack ran up to him and grabbed him by the shoulder but I coudl be wrong.

Ecko is one cool dude, he doesn’t reveal too much and seems to try and take it all in before opening his mouth.

My theory on Kate and Sawyer is that Sawyer thought Kate was someone else. If you remember from season 1 he took someone else’s name so maybe that’s what he was referring to when he said, “You killed me.” Or, Kate was delussional and their exchange didn’t happen.

And of course the best part of this week was Kate. More Kate = higher ratings. But I can’t wait to see what’s happened to Walt.

Is there a new episode tonight???

nope… not for 6 weeks…
